SI WOO KIM – PLAYERS CHAMPION 2017 Si Woo Kim became the youngest Players Championship winner ever in 2017

On a week where 67 balls went into the water on the iconic 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass, a run of superstar champions ended with the emergence of 21-year-old Si Woo Kim from South Korea.

Kim had just one bogey all weekend, outlasting a course that caused so many to post big numbers at one of the PGA Tour's signature event.

He played the course no worse than even with three under-par rounds. Kim was hitting driver off the deck on Saturday and driving the green at 12 on Sunday, playing phenomenal golf and riding a nine-hole par train all the way to his historic win. Congratulations!

It is an exciting hole, a dramatic hole. Majors test skill, patience and nerves. At times, they require luck. Since 2003, more than 550 shots have found the drink surrounding the island green. In Round 1 of the 2007 Players Championship alone, there were 50 balls in the water. How many balls will be hit into the water on the notorious 17th during THE PLAYERS Championship in 2018?

Tournament Info for May 15, 2018

Individual Stroke play

• The Tournament will be an 18-hole stroke play event, where participants will compete as individuals in pre-defined groups.

• The field will be divided into 3 groups based on players´ handicaps.

• The maximum handicap for both men and ladies is 36. Golfers with higher handicaps must play off the maximum permitted handicap.

• Prizes will be awarded to the 1st and the runner-up (NET) in each group.

• Pairings for each group will be determined by the tournament organization. Wishes will be accepted when communicated at least 24 hours before tee-off time).

• Electronic devices may be used during play if they measure distance only.

• For enjoyment of all, field size will be limited and guidelines will be provided to improve Speed of Play. Detailed info will be outlined in travel docs
