NATIONAL CHRISTMAS TREEDate: December 5, 2019 - January 1, 2020

Nearly a 100-year-old tradition, the National Christmas Tree will be lit every day from 4:30pm to midnight and open to the public after the lighting ceremony on December 5.

NATIONAL MENORAHDates: December 22, 2019 - December 30, 2019

The annual lighting ceremony of the National Chanukah Menorah happens on the Ellipse, just across from the White House. As the world’s largest, this menorah has become a premier symbol of the festival of Chanukah.

More than 500,000 environmentally friendly LED lights transform the National Zoo into a winter wonderland. ZooLights will be open 5-9pm and includes live music performances, tasty winter treats, and plenty of holiday shopping opportunities.

The 2019 Downtown Holiday Market boasts one of the most spectacular outdoor shopping environments in the DMV. Union Station has three attractions nodding to the winter holidays. Beautifully lit wreaths hang outside the south side of the station, the model train village exhibit portrays Maine in the wintertime, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy presents a holiday tree on behalf of the people of Norway.
