So how does this whole thing work? What should we expect? The event will begin at 5 pm in Nickelodeon Universe, with a short unified welcome and a DJ to get the party started! From there, participants will be able to ride rides, participate in event activations including like Nickelodeon Universe bingo, compete in games or rock out at the dance party – there will be something for everyone! Do I really have to raise $50 to participate? You sure do – after all, this is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Minnesota! After you register, simply share the link to your personal page on social media or via text and watch the money roll in – it’s that easy! The more you raise, the more cool SWAG you’ll earn! Who can participate in the event? Are there age requirements? Everyone! We are truly living #unified! There are no age requirements, however, most participants are middle and high schoolers. Participants are encouraged to register with a team/club, but you can also register with a group of friends or even as an individual. Come one, come all! Will there be food or snacks? Because we’re packing so much into a short time frame, we will only be providing water. Participants who raise $100 or more will have access to the pizza lounge (in Nickelodeon Universe). Can I take a shopping break in the middle of the event? Once you’ve entered the event, re-entry will not be allowed due to the nature of the event. Everything you’ll need will be available to you within the park, so we ask that you keep your shopping limited to before the event! What should I bring with me for this day of fun? Not much! It might be nice to carry your cell phone and some extra cash (just in case)! If I have a personal care attendant (PCA), can they come to the event with me? If you need to have a PCA present in order to have the best experience, yes! Participants should indicate this need during registration. The PCA will receive a wristband granting them access to the event, but will NOT receive any of the incentives, including the event shirt. If the PCA would like to receive the incentives, they are required to register and fundraise a minimum of $50 to participate in the event. I’m a parent of a UNO participant and my child needs adult supervision. Do I need to stay the entire time or will there be chaperones at the event? We will not have designated event PCAs/chaperones, so if your child needs adult supervision please plan on staying for the duration of the event. Is the event wheelchair accessible? For sure! For more information on accessibility within the Mall of America visit www.mallofamerica.com/plan-your-trip/accessibility. How do I get to the event? If you are coming with a team/club, we recommend hopping on a bus together or arranging carpools. Otherwise, there’s plenty of parking options at the MOA. For more info on MOA parking visit www.mallofamerica.com/plan-your-trip/transportation. My team is far away from the Twin Cities area. Is there a transportation stipend available? Yes!
