UNICEF was established in 1946.

UNICEF works with local governments to help children and

women with basic nutrition, healthcare, and educational needs.

UNICEF also has a strong emphasis on gender equity.

Every person at Hilsman can Trash Hunger! Every Thursday SET members are on the 7th & 8th grade hallways during morning homeroom to collect items for the Trash Hunger Campaign. Your trash can save lives!

Money that is earned from recycling is donated to UNICEF & the Food Bank of

Northeast Georgia. Items recycled for the Trash Hunger Campaign need to be

separated from your regular recycling.

Hilsman ships the following items to Terra Cycle and earns 2¢ per item:

Capri Sun Drink Pouches Elmer’s Glue Products Energy Bar Wrappers

Health & Beauty Product Containers Solo Cups

Hilsman recycles these items locally:

Camcorders Cellular Phones Digital Cameras

Hand-held Games Ink Cartridges Laptop computers

● Participation by Classes & Students is OPTIONAL

● 4th Period Classes at each grade level can compete against each other to collect the most money for UNICEF

● The 4th Period Class at each grade level that collects the most money will win a sundae party in the Courtyard during lunch

● Turn in all collections to Mrs. Clark by Wednesday, November 5

● Our school goal is to collect $1,000 ~$1.25 per person
