Neria E. Gomez, University Librarian, ex- plained that the essence of these three links is to support the clientele of BU in their various academic needs such as global information and knowledge for them to sustain, enhance, promote and utilize the researches founda- tion of the university. The links are namely the Learning Man- agement System (LMS), University Library Website, and the Research and Development (R&D) e-Journal. The link aspires to reach out to interested individuals for them to have an access to edu- cation and learn the different subjects though they are distant from the university and have inabilities from attending regular classes. Gomez said that the university library website will still be part of the BU website however it will be managed and maintained by the library staff in order to keep the site updated. “We have conceptualized it for three or more years ago, but unfortunately it needs a lot of manpower but today it has become a reality,” she added. Dr. Noli Mascariñas, Director of the Re- search and Development Center, said that the LMS is a multimode learning course where the tools are internet-based. He added that the LMS aims to reach out to more students and clientele without the need of building additional facilities. Mascariñas also said that the R&D e- Journal will serve as a means for university researchers to disseminate their product of re- search or creative thought online and aims to become one of the recognized journals by the Commission on Higher Edpucation (CHED) and other international institutions. Upon the approval of the LMS project last November 26, 2012 under the Bicol Uni- versity Research Resolution No. 051 Series of 2012 and the Php 650,000.00 donated by Albay Governor Joey Salceda assisted in making the project possible resulting to a digitalized col- lection of theses and dissertations. “The world is no longer round, it is now flat. Alongside the opening day ceremony of the 44th Founding Anniversary, Bicol Uni-versity launched the three university website links yesterday at the College of Arts and Let-ters Amphitheater.

Showcasing Bueños’ talents and musi-cal artistry, the Band Fest was held yesterday night along with the opening ceremonies. The commencement ground was in-habited by music avid students.
