One of the major things is to fill one posion for the School year. Last year Beth Nemec was running the School lunch pro- gram and also helping out in the school working with students that needed extra help. We are trying to fill that posion and we are keeping those two jobs together. We are looking for someone that has the skill to run the lunch program, but also has some background in educaon to help students that need extra help with subjects that are difficult for them. We will soon be moving into the month of July and it is a good op- portunity to reflect on the giſt of freedom. As the Fourth of July city we have so many people coming into Seward to celebrate this naonal holiday. It is a good reminder to us that we live in a great country with tremendous wealth and freedom. Somemes we forget about these blessings and somemes we forget about our responsibility to care for those who are in need, and to welcome those who are new to our country. We have all come from differ- ent countries and our ancestors came here for various reasons, but most im- portantly for a new beginning and to live in freedom. There are people doing the same today as the look to the United States as a place that they can have a new start and have an opportunity to provide for the needs of their fami- lies. As we reflect on the blessings that we have living here, we also need to remember that at one me our families were newcomers and were in need of help and needed to be made welcome. I just encourage you to think about these things and look for opportunies to make immigrants and peo- ple new to the community feel welcome. God Bless you. Msgr.
