In Tajikistan UNDP is helping women farmers to preserve the biodiversity of agro products by promoting policies that value local knowledge
And promoting equal local market opportunities, so that men and women can equally benefit from new and more sustainable forms of growth.
In Kyrgyzstan , UNDP is supporting the development of services to deliver clean water,
and preserve biodiversity.
In Uzbekistan, UNDP helped to construct and renovate a number of public energy efficient buildings including schools, colleges, kindergartens, hospitals and sports complexes. These interventions reduced the energy consumption of buildings by 25 percent, helping the local
communities to save resources and mitigate climate change impacts.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNDP supports Women Citizens Association Grahovo-s project “Creativity and Tradition Leading to the Economic Stability of Returnees” to help local
women produce biodiversity friendly crafts . This initiative helped to reduced the unemployment rate and to create alternative sources of income.
UNDP is also providing climate change trainings to primary and secondary schools teachers in Srebrenica, Bratunac, and Milići to promote eco friendly education for young generations.
In Georgia, UNDP helped to design a first sustainable local development action plan.
The promotion of local agricultural production and consumption has also
increased job opportunities for women.
In Poland, UNDP designed initiative to support production and merchandizing of recycled and environmentally friendly products which also creates jobs opportunities for boys and girls with
special abilities .
