CONTROL STRUCTURE

Upstream: No deficiencies noted. Downstream: The vertical steel H-piles have extensive corrosion with up to 95% section loss.

STILLING BASIN

END SILLS

Upstream: No deficiencies noted. Downstream: The end sill only has 3ft. of the original portion left at the structure. The majority of the stilling basin and end sill have fractured off and settled into a scour hole. The remaining 3ft. of the end sill is undermined to the sheet pile (undermining is related to the scour hole, see “Channel” for measurements).

WINGWALLS

STEEL SHEET PILES Upstream: The steel sheet piles have through holes on both ends of the structure, 7ft. below the top of the sheet pile wall, up to 3in. H x 12in. W. Downstream: No deficiencies noted.

CHANNEL Upstream: There is minor construction debris in the channel, most of which is against the structure. Downstream: There is an 80ft. L x 30ft. W x 15ft. D scour hole starting at the structure with the channel bottom leveling off 80ft. out.

The bottom of the channel is irregular with lime rock areas protruding up from the bottom 4ft. high and near vertical walls within the scour hole.
