Understanding: Coles Lutman and Buffin; Lutman, Coles and Buffin Rationale: Understand the role and purpose of CLB (diagnostic) and how and why it is taken a step further in LCB (CLB2) (quantification). Method: Understand the method and the approach now advised by the CLB and LCB (CLB2) papers. Analysis/Quantification: Understand the resultant data and how to best analyse it, losses at individual frequencies, comparing actual hearing levels with LCB (CLB2) age assessed levels to produce net loss figures, assist in assessing hearing aid advancement/acceleration claims. Amendments to CLB: Understand how the CLB methodology is amended by LCB (CLB2), such as, normative data to use, use of different centiles for different ears, mis-fit value assessment, what to do in cases of precipitous drops from 6kHz to 8kHz. Training and Analysis: I can offer training on the above and I can offer a quick audiogram analysis service with the benefit of my spreadsheet analyser which incorporates all aspects of CLB and LCB (CLB2) and quantification of losses according to different approaches. It is advisable to assess every existing case you have against the new criteria as it may well assist, as well as all new cases you intend to take on. Steven Eldred, SE Consultancy

Understanding:

Coles Lutman and Buffin; Lutman, Coles and Buffin

Rationale: Understand the role and purpose of CLB (diagnostic) and how and why it is taken a step further in LCB (CLB2) (quantification).
