Geolocation Advice
Do not “check in” while traveling.
Do not check in at every stop or on a regular schedule.
Ask – how could this information be used against me?
Ask – do people really need to know exactly where I am?
Be careful about who you authorize to follow your location feeds.
Be careful about how location may be shared in other ways (e.g., mobile photos).
Be Careful About Mobile Photos
Mobile photos are automatically geo-tagged and this tag remains with the photo

Other Safety Advice
Set up Google Alerts for your own name. Avoid clicking links in profiles or status updates
on social media sites because the links could be infected with malware or take you to spoof websites.
Don't enter a lot of personal identifying information on social media sites which could relate to password resets.
Don’t overpost – TMI! Be sure that your PC has updated antivirus
security. Social media is part of the Web, and the Web is what ultimately infects your PC.
Always log out.
