DREAM JOURNALINGIn Uncovering the Life of Your Dreams, the lucid dreaming workshop presenter highly recommends keeping a dream journal in which you note as many details of the dream as you can remember.
Writing down your dreams immediately upon waking not only helps you remember your dreams, but also helps you understand the messages your dreams hold.
This journal contains space for you to write a description of what happened in your dream, along with places to note:
...the characters (if people you know, write their names; if not, describe them) ...locations (again, either describe or identify) ...symbols (what objects stood out for you) ...and emotions (what were you experiencing)
There is also a box to check if this is a recurring dream—one that you’ve dreamed before. Finally, there’s a place to note your insights and interpretations. In that section, you can write what you think the dream means, what messages it holds, and what’s going on in your life that might have spurred the dream.
After you’ve made all your notes, go back and fill in the very first line—the Dream Title. Taking everything you wrote into consideration, pretend that your dream was a movie and note what you think the title would be.
By looking back over your entries from time to time, you’ll start to see patterns. What signs and messages are your dreams providing? What do you want to take from your dreams to “real life”?
HOW TO PRINT AND ASSEMBLE YOUR JOURNALThe journal consists of a cover and ten unique pages, each with a quote from the book. We suggest that you print out one copy of the cover and three copies each of the ten pages so that you’re set for a month. You can get a binder and insert your pages in it or keep them in any other format that is easy to access and review.
