WORD ESSAY ABOUT

Li t t le Rachel dec ided to go out and p lay one day. She
cyc led around on her l i t t le t r icyc le and happened to
pass a t iny bed of f lowers next to a b ig ta l l t ree . She
found them pret ty and beaut i fu l and dec ided to p luck
a few to show them to her f r iends at school ; when
suddenly she hears a great b ig vo ice :
“Oh l i t t le g i r l wont you come and ta lk to me?” Rachel
was star t led and f r ightened. “Who sa id that?” she
asked. And the voice came again. “ I have b ig body,
wi th th ick green ha i r, I ’m ta l l and b ig Yes that ’s me.
With too many arms. So who can I be?” L i t t le Rachel
was amazed that in f ront of her s tood a huge t ree ,
and i t just spoke. “You can ta lk?” she asked. “Why of
course I can, but the only problem is that I have no
one to ta lk to” sa id the banyan t ree . “Where are a l l
your f r iends, don’ t you have any?” asked Rachel “Why
l i t t le g i r l , look around me, Do you see any other t rees
or p lants? Sadly I ’m the only one.”
“ I t ’s dec ided then!” l i t t le Rachel s tood upr ight and put
her hands on her waist , “my name is Rachel and f rom
today I wi l l be your f r iend” The t ree le t out a weak
smi le . “Dear Rachel th is happiness wi l l be short l ived,
because I ’m a banyan t ree and we l ive for 100-300
years . What wi l l I do when your gone?” say ing that
the t ree s tar ted to cry. Rachel fe l t sad and hugged the

t ree” Don’ t you worry Mr. Tree, I wi l l f ind a way to
make you happy” .And wi th that she le f t to get back
home. Over d inner L i t t le Rachel asked “how are t rees
born daddy?” her fa ther answered “wel l honey, they
aren’ t born they are p lanted you have to take a seed,
put i t in the soi l , nur ture i t wi th water, sunl ight and
loads of love, that ’s when i t grows.” Rachel had an
idea, she to ld her f r iends at school the next day about
her p lan. That a f ternoon af ter school she worked on
a smal l s ignboard wi th pa ints and crayon , her daddy
who was cur ious asked what she was doing , a l l l i t t le
Rachel sa id was “ I ’m he lp ing a f r iend” and asked i f
she could borrow a few seeds.
In the evening Rachel gathered a l l her f r iends; shovel
and water cans in hand they walked to where Mr. Tree
stood and got to work. They dug soi l , p lanted seeds
and watered them. Mr. Tree was puzz led but s tood
watching unt i l the others had le f t . They had nurtured
i t wi th love, care and covered the soi l neat ly. Af ter
everyone had gone L i t t le Rachel to ld Mr. Tree what her
daddy had to ld her and he was happy again.
“ I have one last surpr ise for you”. “What is i t?” he
asked. She pul led out her s ignboard that read –
in bold and below i t a t iny l ine read “i t ’s a beaut i ful
world” and stuck i t r ight next to f lower bed.
From then onwards the banyan t ree and l i t t le Rachel
were the best of f r iends and would spend every other
day together, she loved nurtured and watered h im and
by the t ime l i t t le Rachel was o ld enough to leave. Mr.
Tree d idn’ t worry for she had g iven h im a few good
f r iends and for that he would a lways be thankfu l .
