[ref: CRIS: 2314237/12] The nature of the criminal investigation concerns Deborah Glass’ involvement and failure to investigate criminal allegations against members of the Metropolitan police under IPCC managed investigation 009815/2009. She is accused of misconduct in public office and perverting the course of justice. The subject of this managed investigation involved false allegations made by the police and an unlawful forced entry to the family home of a member of the public. You may read more at; - Guardian article - Two police officers accused of kidnap in private prosecution - Guardian Feature: Justice is impossible if you can not trust the police to tell the truth The IPCC managed investigation exonerated all officers/police civilians involved and failed, despite evidence to the contrary, to conduct a criminal investigation. In contrast to this IPCC investigation, all police individuals subject to the IPCC managed investigation are now on criminal trial by way of Private Criminal prosecution. In each case the trial judge has confirmed there is a ‘case to answer’ on the same evidence available to Deborah Glass of the IPCC, who said there was no evidence. There is huge public concern over the conduct of the IPCC in failing to hold the police to account for their actions. Most recently, following a large demonstration outside the London HQ of the IPCC, a Parliamentary Inquiry has been launched into the IPCC’s future. Notes to Editor: JusticeNow is a pressure group, with no political affiliation, which campaigns against miscarriages of justice in the UK. It has worked closely with Campaign for Justice and in the past six months has held two major demonstrations outside the offices of the IPCC and others in London.
