31.03.2014(from 11am to 2.30 pm), only on working days, in the B.Ed. Colleges affiliated to thisUniversity as well as from the Sales & Information Unit, B.U. Rajbati, Burdwan (from 11am to1.30

pm) on payment of Rs.300/-as the cost of application form and on production of original mark sheet

(either Bachelors Degree and/or Masters Degree whichever will fulfill the eligibility).

Candidates, engaged in any other Course of Studies/Job/Full- time Research Work, shall not

be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously.

Deputed candidates attention please : As per Govt. order no. ED-271/2013, dated 24.04.2013,

particularly the teachers, teaching for class IX onward, will be allowed to pursue B.Ed. course

under conventional mode and 50% seats will be considered for deputed teachers in the NCTErecognized (Govt., Govt. Aided, Self-financed & University Dept.) Institutions.

As per order no. ED-S/1(4)/2014, dated 08.01.2014, the last date of release of deputed teacher

trainees will be 30thJune of every yearinstead of 15thMay as the course runs from 1stJuly to 30th

June of the every academic session according to NCTE norms.

Each deputed candidatemust verify eligibility& availability of method subjects as mentioned

below before collecting the application form (Whitecoloured).

Each fresh candidatemust verify eligibility, age, availability of method subjects and category

of application form to be issued to him/ her as mentioned below before collecting the application

form.Only 5% seats of the fresh candidatesin each College will be considered for the students of Other

than Burdwan University and separate list will be prepared for them.

Eligibility :Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed)with at least 50% marks either in Bachelors

Degree and / or in Masters Degree in Arts/ Science/ Fine Arts/ Music/ Commerce or any other

qualification equivalent thereto, be eligible to apply. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in

favour of SC, ST and PWD ( Persons withdisabilities ) categories .

NB : 50% or 45% marks (as the case may be) in Bachelors Degree with Hons. may be

determinedeither on the basis of Hons.marksonly oron the basis of Hons. marks& marksof

c) Candidates, having Hons./P.G. in Stat./ Comp. Application / Comp. Sc./ Comp.Sc. &

Engineering or Information Technology, shall be eligible to apply and in this case they shall have to

take Mathematics as the 1stmethod. List of those applicants shall be prepared with the applicants for

the subject, Mathematics.

d)Candidates, having Hons./P.G. in Sociology, shall be eligible to apply and in this case they shall

have to choose method subjects from their elective subjects as well as compulsory language papers.List of those applicants shall be prepared with the applicants for the subject, Political Science.

e)The fresh candidates,having Hons./ P.G. in Santali / Arabic/ Urdu,shall be eligible to apply

and shall get admission to the course subject to a maximum number of seatsstipulated for them in

each case. They shall have to choose method subjects from their elective subjects & accordingly

their names will be enlisted as per the 1stmethodto be mentioned by them in the application forms.

Category of Application Form: Whether a freshapplicant shall getthe application form either for

the students of Burdwan University ( yellow coloured form ) or for the students of Other than

Burdwan University( pink coloured form ) that will be determined on the basisof the Mark Sheet

of the lastExaminationpassed or the lastCertificate( in case of M.Phil. or Ph.D. holders).

Submission of Application Form : a) Before submitting the application form, candidates must

ensure that they have carefully and neatly entered their detailed information and the marks in

different columns of the forms. Any overwriting or double writing should be avoided. They should

also preferably useball-point penwhile filling the application forms.

b) i) Duly filled in application form, issued from any affiliated B.Ed. colleges, shall be submitted,

either personally or by messenger, to the Officeof the Principalof the Collegeconcerned.

ii) Duly filled in application form, issued from Sales & Information Unit, B.U., shall be

submittedto the counter of the Receiving Section, B.U., Rajbati, Burdwan, to be opened for this

purpose .iii) Duly filled in downloaded application form, along with a DD of Rs.300/-( ie. cost of

application form ) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, B.U., payable at SBI , B.U. Branch,

Burdwan, shall be submittedto the Officeof the Secretary, U.G. Council, B.U.

1. Issue of application form to a candidate does not automatically ensure his/her eligibility foradmission to the course. Candidates, engaged in any other Course of Studies/Job/Full-timeResearch Work, shall not be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously . 2. For Deputed candidates only : As per Govt. order no. ED-271/2013, dated 24.04.2013, particularlythe teachers, teaching for class IX onward, will be allowed to pursue B.Ed. course under conventionalmode and 50% seats will be considered for deputed teachers in the NCTE recognized (Govt., Govt.Aided, Self-financed & University Dept.) Institutions.

Each Deputedcandidate must verify his/her eligibilityas in (3) & availabilityof method subject(s)

3. Eligibility: Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) with at least 50% markseither in Bachelor's Degreeand/or in Master's Degree in Arts/Science/Fine Arts/Music/Commerce or any other qualificationequivalent thereto, be eligible for application. c) Bio-chemistry & Electronics shall be treated as subjects in the Physical Science Group and inthis case candidates shall have to take Physical Science as the 1st method. Bio-technology,Nutrition, Microbiology & Env.Sc. shall be treated as subjects in the Life Science Group and inthis case candidates shall have to take Life Science as the 1st method. Stat./Comp. Application/Comp. Sc./Comp. Sc. & Engineering or Information Technology shall be treated as subjects inMathematics and in this case candidates shall have to take Mathematics as the 1st method.

d) Students of Sociology shall be eligible to apply and in this case they shall have to choosemethod subjects from their elective subjects as well as compulsory language papers. List ofthose applicants shall be prepared with the applicants for the subject, Political Science.

e) Fresh applicants, having Hons./PG. in Santali/Arabic/Urdu shall be eligible to apply and shallget admission to the course subject to a maximum number of seats stipulated for the them ineach case. They shall have to choose method subjects from their elective subjects & accordinglythey will be enlisted as per the 1st method to be mentioned by them in the application forms.

f) Colleges, where Work Education is available as 2nd method, only 20% students (including all)will be given the subject by the College concerned according to the subject-wise merit.

g) Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who did not study at the degree level at least two of themethod subjects available in any college (including compulsory language paper as 2ndmethod), will not be considered for admission even if their names are found in the list. DeputedCandidates shall have to take the subject as the 1st method in which they are the approvedteachers.

8. Category of Application Form : Whether a fresh applicant shall get the application form either forthe students of Burdwan University (yellow form) or for the students of Other than BurdwanUniversity (pink form) that will be determined on the basis of the Mark Sheet of the lastExamination passed or the last Certificate (in case of M. Phil. or Ph. D. holders).

9. Availability of Application Form : Application forms shall be available on and from 11.03.2014 to31.03.2014 (from 11am to 2.30 pm), only on working days, in the B.Ed. Colleges affiliated to this

University as well as from the Sales & Information Unit, B.U. Rajbati, Burdwan (from 11am to1.30pm) on payment of Rs. 300as the cost of application form and on production of original mark sheet(either Bachelor's Degreeand/orMaster's Degreewhichever will fulfill the eligibility). 10. Submission of Application Form :

a) Before submitting the application forms, candidates must ensure that they have carefully andneatly entered their detailed information and the marks in different columns of the forms. Anyoverwriting or double writing should be avoided. They should also preferably use ball-pointpen while filling the application forms.

b) i) Duly filled in application form, issued from any affiliated B.Ed. College, shall be submitted,

either personally or by messenger, to the Officeof the Principalof the College concerned.ii) Duly filled in application form, issued from Sales & Information Unit, B.U., shall be

submitted to the counter of the Receiving Section, B.U., Rajbati, Burdwan, to be opened forthis purpose.

iii) Duly filled in downloaded application form, along with a crossed Demand Draftof Rs. 300(ie. cost of application form) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, B.U., payable at SBI,B.U. Branch, Burdwan, shall be submittedto the Officeof the Secretary, U.G. Council, B.U.,Rajbati, Burdwan.

c) Fresh candidates must enclose Xerox attestedcopies of Admit Card [M.P.(S.E.) or equivalent],Mark Sheets of all the public examinations passed and certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/or Ph.D.,if any.

d) Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservationunder SC/STcategory, mustenclose attested photo copy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to

authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B. GOVT. MEMONO.1813-BCW/MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, 2011.

The certificate must be obtained from one of the authorities listed below :

i) Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, BackwardClasses Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or

Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal.

ii) Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata, Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata,Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, ChiefMetropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate,Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. DistrictMagistrate, Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case ofcandidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe and ordinary residing withinsuch jurisdictions.

e) Deputed Candidates must enclose Xerox attested copies of Admit Card [ M.P.(S.E.) orequivalent], Mark Sheets of all the public examinations passed, certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/orPh.D., if any and the copy(ies)of approvalfor the post(s) held at present and earlier along withthe resolution of the Managing Committee of the School concerned (present employer).Teachers, teaching for class IX onwardin the Govt. Aided Institutions only, shall be consideredas Deputed Candidates. Their application forms must be countersigned by the concernedDistrict Inspectorof Schools/Competent Authorityotherwise, their application forms shall betreated as cancelled.

f) No Candidate needs to submit more than one application formas the selection shall be madethrough central counselling.

g) Last date of submission of forms : 31.03.2014 (upto 3 p.m.). Submission of application formby post should be avoided.

11. For PWD Candidates only :Candidates (both Fresh & Deputed), who are seeking reservation under

PWD category, must enclose attested photo copy of the Certificate obtained from the competentauthority to authenticate their claim and the certificate must be obtained from the authority notbelow the rank of a Superintendent of Sub-Divisional Hospital. In the certificate, the extent of Physicaldisability must not be less than 40%. However, such candidates must appear personally with allrelevant medical reports as well as the certificate in original before the Medical Board, constituted forthis purpose, as per the following schedule for determining their eligibility for admission under PWDcategory :

12. Selection Procedure :

a) For Deputed Candidates of all categories (Gen., SC, ST & PWD), provisional merit list alongwith waiting list shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service. In case ofsame lengthof service of two or morecandidates, the 2nd and 3rd criteria shall be AcademicScore and Date of Birth respectively.

b) Separate list for deputed applicants shall be prepared as per the following groups :

i) Language & Social Science Group : (Beng., Eng., Sans., Hin., Geo., Hist., Econ., Pol. Sc./Socio., Phil., Edn., Mus., Commerce)

c) For Fresh Candidates of all categories (Gen., SC, ST & PWD), subject wise provisional meritlist along with waiting list shall be prepared on the basis of their Grade Pointsto be computedas per the following norms :

i) 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the M.P.(S.E.) or Equivalent Examination.

ii) 10% of the percentage of marks obtained at the H.S.(10+2). or Equivalent Examination.

iii) a) 15% of the percentage of marksobtained at the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Gen.) Examination or,

b) 20%of the percentageof marksobtained at the Hons. or equivalent Examination ( In thiscase the marks of Elective/Subsidiary subjects shall not be considered).

iv) 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at Post Graduate Examination.

v) a) Ad hoc 5 marks shall be awarded for M. Phil. Degree or,

b) Ad hoc 8 marks shall be awarded for Ph. D. degree.

(Candidates with M. Phil. & Ph. D. degrees both, only 8 marks be awarded).

13. Provisional Merit List along with Waiting List will be publishedon 13th May, 2014. The same willbe available only in all the B. Ed. Colleges affiliated to this University as well as on the UniversityWebsite. Please, note that no list will be put on the University Notice Board as earlier. For correctionof mistake in the Provisional merit list as well as waiting list, in respect of name, form no., category,grade point, or length of service, subject and others, as mentioned in the application form, writtenintimation of a candidate must reach the office of the Secretary, U.G. Council, B.U. Rajbati, Burdwan,within 16.03.2014. Selection for admission to the course will be made through Central Counselling

serially on the basis of corrected list and offer of admission will be given on the basis of availabilityof seats and subjects in the Colleges concerned.

14. Venue, Date, Time and Sl. Nos. for Counselling shall be announced at the time of publication ofprovisional merit as well as waiting lists and the same will be available on the University Websiteas well. During counselling candidates are advised to bring with them the receipt of the applicationform and all the credentials in original. If any candidate (or his/her authorized representative) failsto appear at the Counselling, he/she will not be considered for admission to the course and nofurther request will be entertained in this regard. After Counselling names of the selected candidatesshall be sent to the respective colleges for admission and the remaining part of admission processshall be done by the college concerned. Admission of the Candidates, allotted to the Dept. ofEducation, B.U. for pursuing this course, shall be done by the Office of the Secretary, Faculty Council(Arts etc.), B. U. Once allotted no further request for change will be entertained.

15. At the time of admission, selected candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) must produce all the credentialsin original. The mere fact that any candidate, provisionally recommended for admission throughcounselling, does not by itself ensure admission to the course unless his/her original credentials arefound in order and admission shall be made final only after proper verification of all the credentialsin original. In addition, deputed candidates must have to submit "No Objection Certificate'' inoriginal, at the time of admission, taken from their employer permitting them to pursue the courseof studies (from July 2014 to June 2015) on fulltime basis.

16. Course Fees : Total fee for pursuing this Course in the (A) Govt. & Govt. Sponsored/Aided Collegesis Rs. 10000/- (including tuition fees) + (Rs. 200/- per lab. based method subject) for Fresh Candidatesand Rs. 15000/- (including tuition fees) + (Rs. 200/- per lab. based method subject) for Deputed

Candidates, (B) Self-financed Colleges is Rs. 44,000/- (including Uni. Exam. Fee Rs. 1500) + (Rs. 1000/-per lab. based method subject) or as may be revised by the Govt. both for Deputed & FreshCandidates of which Rs. 19000/- (may be enhanced) will be paid at the time of admission and the

rest amount i.e. Rs. 25000/- (may be enhanced) will be paid in five (5) equal installments startingfrom the month of November, 2014. and (C) Department of Education, Golapbag, B.U. will be as perBurdwan University Rules.

17. In Self-financed Colleges, five (5) Fresh candidates or as may be decided by the Govt. shall get theopportunity of full free [i.e. Rs. 7,000 (including Uni. Exam.Fee Rs.1500) + (Rs. 1000/- per lab. basedmethod subject) shall be paid as total course fee] or ten (10) candidates or as may be decided by theGovt. shall get half-free [i.e. Rs. 24,000 (may be enhanced) (including Uni. Exam.Fee Rs.1500) + (Rs.1000/- per lab. based method subject) shall be paid as total course fee] or together (full free & halffree), maximum to the equivalent of five (5) candidates or as may be decided by the Govt. with fullfree benefit. This benefit will be given to the poor but meritorious fresh Candidates not to theCandidates to be admitted under Management Quota.

18. The University also reserves the right to drop or include any name if any suppression of facts on thepart of the applicants or any mistake in the calculation of grade point is detected at any stage beforeand after admission.
