Project Synopsis

The UFNY - Urban Farming New York project addresses the need to have a design artifact that urban farmers can use to have urban professionals attracted in buying local produce and engaged in participating in framing activities.

After survey, research, iterations, the project resumes by developing a concept and prototype of a mobile app as a way to interact with the target audience.

The slides that follow guide you through the process of reaching to our final product, the findings, the discoveries and the user feedbacks.

FinalPrototype

This is our final prototype. Instead of creating a website, we decided to launch a mobile application for UFNY.

This mobile app. incorporates social networking to urban farming produce. Thus, it is the most evolved form of urban farming platform ever existed before.

It provides not only high quality local produce but also recipes, reward points, and nearby markets depending on customers’ current or wanted location.

Testing PhaseWe tested our prototype, UFNY mobile application to seven young urban professionals. They were asked to use the application and rate it ranging from one star to five stars.

The lowest rating was three stars and the highest rating was four stars. Overall, the average rating for UFNY app was four out of five stars.

There are areas that needed to be improved in order to provide the best experience for all UFNY customers. Based on the ratings, there is no doubt that potential customers are satisfied with UFNY prototype mobile application.
