SEPTEMBER 1980EDITORIAL BOARD

, Effective immediately, the testing program for Aide Trainee/Psychiatric Aide 1 hasbeen drastically altered. The Es~chia~ric

Aide_l test will no longer be administered andall new Aide employes will be hired in the AideTrai~ee class,

The Aid~ 1rainee exam ~lll no longer begiven every other month nor follow its traditional format. Instead, the exam ~lll beavailable only when we find it is necessaryto add names to the existing civil servicelistings. The testing fOrmat will consist oftelevision presentations depicting worksitesituations. The applicant will view the presentation and then answer questions relatingto what they have observed. The testing willcontinue to be given at A.S.H. Dates thatapplications will be accepted shall be advertised.

Civil service lists containing names ofapplicants from the new testing format shallnot be used for employment until exLstinglists are exhausted. Consequently, our present forecast is that'testing for Aide Traineewill not commence for approximately 5 to 6months.

Due to the volume of names available forother Aide 1 ~ositions (Act. Aide 1, OT Aide 1,Rec. Aide 1, etc.), this testing program willalso be administered on a need basis. As inthe Trainee testing, we will advertise whenapplications are being accepted.

Individuals who have submitted applications and are currently awaiting examination, shall have their applications returned andadvised as to the new testing system.

Please note that these changes concernonly the Aide Trainee and other various Aidetesting programs. All other civil serviceapplications/testing programs remain unchanged.

By Northeastern Regional Office (NERO)directive, Leave Without Pay requests can onlybe locally approved for reasons of childbirth, sickness or military. GUZZLING GOURMETTES

MAt~MA LEONE's

Visiting Mamma Leone's is an absolutemust on your next trip to New York City. When you walk through the front door ofMamma Leone's, prepare yourself for atruly unique experience. The mouthwateringaromas envelope you immediately and areguaranteed to defeat even the most conscientious weight watcher. There are13 rooms in the restaurant which, whenopen, enable the staff to serve as manyas 6,000 patrons on a busy night. Thedecor is colorful and festive. Strollingmusicians and the sounds of people laughing and enjoying themselves help toprovide a very relaxed and festive atmosphere. There is an art collection ondisplay throughout the restaurant valuedat a quarter of a million dollars.

When seated at your table, you can enjoya tray of celery, tomatoes, radishes, etc.as well as a loaf of Italian bread and awedge of delicious cheese (a word of advice sample sparingly - the portions are morethan average here).

Making selections from the oversized menucan be a pleasantly frustrating experience. After much difficulty and indecision, 1selected melon with proscuitto, fettucinialfredo and lasagna. My companion enjoyedsalad, pasta with meat sauce and chickencacciatore. The food was delicious! Wealso sampled some of the delicious bugiewhile waiting for our dessert to arrive.Although we were clearly suffering at thispoint - we agreed that we would be lettingour readers down if we neglected to sampleat least one of the many fabulous desserts. We split an order of cannoli (fabulous) andenjoyed Irish coffee.Service is adequate and sufficient time ispermitted between courses. Don't plan tospend less than 2 - 3 hours for dinner.Reservations are recommended but not necessary, if you don't mind waiting.

The Restaurant is located on 48th Street westof Broadway.
