• A technically skilled and physically strong midfielder, Wicky's versatility proved an asset for club and country fromthe moment he debuted for Sion aged 16. He won the Swiss Cup three times and added a league title in 1996/97before crossing the German border for Bremen.
• Wicky lifted the DFB-Pokal in his second year and made over 100 appearances for Werder before a short stint inSpain with Atlético in 2001; he swiftly returned to Germany, signing for Hamburg whom he would represent for sixseasons.
• Wicky had his first Switzerland outing in April 1996, playing once at that year's UEFA European Championship; his50th cap came just before UEFA EURO 2004 and he was a squad member at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, retiring frominternational football with 75 caps the following year.
• A fan of nature and spending his free time in the Swiss mountains, Wicky had a brief period working in Thun's youthset-up in 2009/10 before making his name as a talented youth coach during three years at Servette.
• In 2013 Basel approached him to take charge of their Under-18s and he guided the club's UEFA Youth League teamin 2016/17 before stepping up to the senior side to replace Urs Fischer.

• His career as a BATE defender ended at 25 because of ruptured left knee ligaments, Goncharenko immediatelyswitched to coaching, taking over the club's reserves and guiding them to second-placed finishes in 2005 and 2006before graduating to become assistant to head coach Igor Kriushenko.
• In 2007 he replaced Kriushenko on a temporary basis when the latter developed health problems and guided BATEto five wins in his six matches in charge. When Kriushenko departed for FC Dinamo Minsk in November 2007,Goncharenko got his big break with the newly-crowned champions; won the first of five successive league titles withBATE in 2008, and took them into the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2008/09, drawing twice withJuventus.
• Added a domestic double in 2010 and Goncharenko – who lifted the 1999 and 2002 titles as a player – was alsofeted as his nation's coach of the year for three years in a row between 2008 and 2010.
• Twice reached the UEFA Europa League group stage, going on to the round of 32 in 2010/11. Added another leaguetitle in 2011 and took BATE into the UEFA Champions League group stage for second time, achieving another notabledraw against AC Milan. BATE returned to the group stage for the third time in five seasons in 2012/13, beating LOSCLille and eventual winners FC Bayern München.
• Won the 2012 Belarusian title but elected to take charge of Russian side Kuban in October 2013, saying: "Six yearsof coaching in one place is a long time. Now's it time to part ways." Lasted a year at Kuban and then six games withUral in 2015. Won the Russian title as CSKA assistant coach under Leonid Slutski and returned to the Moscow sideas head coach in December 2016 after six months at Ufa.
