GENERAL INFORMATION PARKING

Team Parking: Virtual permits will not be needed this year to park on the UC Merced campus. Teams traveling in buses will need to park in the Bellevue Lot. For Soccer games, visiting team vans or buses may use the Transportation Hub located in front of the Health and Athletics Center for drop off. For Basketball and Volleyball games, we encourage all visiting teams to drop players and staff at the entrance to Joseph Gallo Recreation Center first, then park the team vehicles in the appropriate lot. Locations can be found on the map on the last page. Directional maps driving on campus will be provide via email from the Game Operations Manager.

Officials Parking:

All Officials should park in the Bellevue Lot at the entrance of campus. Virtual permits will not be needed this year to park on campus, however reserved parking spaces will be enforced. After parking, Officials should go to the Health and Athletic Center (HAC), located right next to Bellevue Lot, to be screened and tested. Once you have parked your car, please call Ashley Summerset, Game Operations Manager, at (520) 869-2059, to let her know you have arrived, and she will send appropriate staff to the HAC to administer screening testing. Officials who have completed testing will be directed to Bobcat Field or shuttled to the Joseph Edward Gallo Recreation Center.

TESTING Visiting Teams

Per the California Pacific Conference COVID-19 Safety Protocols, Cal Pac members agree to comply with the testing requirements of the host institution. Therefore, all visiting teams to the UC Merced campus are expected to have the entire travel party receive proof a negative COVID-19 test within the following timeframe of a scheduled competition:

• 48 hours for basketball, soccer, and volleyball • 72 hours for cross country

If a visiting institution has requirements more stringent than those listed above, please notify David Dunham, at [email protected] as soon as possible.

A “cleared” approval on the screening form (discussed in next section) shall imply the

appropriate mandated testing has been completed within the prescribed timeframe with a negative result. Officials

There is not a testing requirement for Officials. Officials should arrive to campus 60 minutes before the scheduled game time start to undergo screening.

5

SCREENING Per NAIA policy, there is a heightened standard for game day screening. All game day screenings will be completed by a healthcare professional or trained non-healthcare provider within 6 hours of the beginning of a contest. Game day screenings include temperature checks, observation/self-reported feelings of illness, and COVID-19 wellness check form. All individuals MUST always wear a mask during screening and adhere to physical distaining guideline.

Visiting Team Arrival The Visiting Team must conduct their own screening prior to departure to campus and send documentation of screenings to the UC Merced Athletic Training Staff, at [email protected]. Documentation must be received prior to the team’s arrival to the UC Merced Campus. The Visiting Team will need to arrive two hours before their scheduled game time. All coaches, players and members of the travel party will undergo screening before entering any athletic facilities. Coaches and members of the travel party (with the exception of uniformed student athletes) that seek entrance into athletic facilities will receive a wristband that must be worn at all times and visible while moving around facilities.

Locations

Screening for all sports will take place at the Health and Athletics Center, which is located adjacent to the Transportation Hub where teams can be dropped off. Once teams have gone through screening, they will directed to their competition facility.

Isolation Any student athlete or staff presenting with symptoms or a temperature during the COVID screening process will not be permitted to enter any athletic facilities. Individuals will be taken to a designated isolation space.

Officials

Officials should arrive to campus 60 minutes before the scheduled game time start to undergo screening and testing. Officials will be screened upon arrival for COVID symptoms first. Any positive symptom shall result in disqualification for the official. Officials who pass the screening will be administer a rapid test right after. Any positive test shall result in disqualification for the official. Screening and testing will be located at the Health and Athletic Center next to the Bellevue Parking Lot.
