Registering your bike helps in the following ways:

Theft Deterrent

Having your bike’s serial number on file makes

it hard to resell if it’s stolen

Proof of Ownership

Transportation & Distribution Services can help

cut your bike lock when you lose the keys or

forget the lock combination

Contact Prior to Impound

If your bike is parked for an extended period of

time, we can attempt to contact you prior to

salvaging your bike

Recovery if Stolen

If your bike is lost or stolen, having it

registered will provide a better chance of it

being returned to you if it’s found

Wear a properly fitted helmet with lights and/or

reflectors on clothing

Ensure your bike has functional brakes and fully

inflated tires

Be aware of pedestrians, they have the right of way

Ride with the flow of traffic and stay in your lane

Do not carry passengers without a seat for them

Keep one hand on the handlebars at all times

Do not wear earphones when riding your bicycle

Do not ride recklessly or at excessive speeds

Obey all traffic signs, signals, and laws
