    TUITION AND FINANCES

    Tuition ees at UBC compare avourably with

    schools o the same high calibre around the world.However, nancing an education is a signicant

    investment, so you will need to determine whether

    you have the nancial resources to cover tuition

    and living costs or the duration o your sons or

    daughters studies. Most bachelor degrees at UBC

    take our years o ull-time study to complete.

    Tuition ees are reviewed annually by UBC and are

    subject to change. All estimated costs here are

    quoted in Canadian dollars.

    CANADIAN STUDENTS

    201213 tuition or Canadian citizens or permanent

    residents is calculated at $156.68 per credit or

    most programs. Tuition ees are higher in the

    Pharmacy program ($231.00 per credit), and ater

    the rst year in the Sauder School o Business

    ($232.15 per credit) and in Applied Science

    ($167.25 per credit).

    INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

    201213 tuition or international students is

    calculated at $754.05 per credit or most

    programs. Tuition ees or the Sauder School

    o Business are higher, based on $844.88 per

    credit. Fees are also assessed with a cost-o-

    living increase o approximately 23% per year.

    FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEAND AWARDS

    In addition to $25 million annually in awards

    and nancial assistance programs or Canadian

    students, UBC dedicates $7 million each year to

    nancial aid and awards or international students.

    Need-based and merit-based programs are both

    available. As there are a limited number o awards,

    not every student who qualies will receive one.

    WORKINGWHILE STUDYING

    Full-time study is demanding but some students

    choose to work while studying to get career-

    related job experience and ofset expenses.

    However, part-time work cannot be relied upon to

    cover tuition and living expenses.

    UBC Work Study and Work Learn is an employment

    program that helps und on-campus jobs or

    students. All students registered in a minimum

    number o credits per term are eligible. In addition,many programs ofer paid co-op placements as part

    o their degree.

    Most international students holding a Canadian

    study permit may work part-time on or of

    campus. Ater graduation, most international

    students are eligible to apply or a work permit or

    Student loans are provincial and ederal

    government-unded nancial assistance that
