Venue and duration of course:

East Surrey College, Gatton Point, Redhill – 2 years – 3 days per week – days to be confirmed

Entry requirements:

Five GCSEs Grade A*-C (9-4), including Maths and English or Level 2 Diploma (in related subject) Merit /

Distinction and GCSE Grade A*-C (9-4) in English and Maths. A portfolio of work is required showing creativity

and an interest in photography

What qualifications will I get?

Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology – Level 3 (UAL Awarding Body)

Course description:

This is a creative, vocational and challenging course exploring a range of photographic practices, and related

skills. Throughout the course photography and creative media techniques are tested and refined using practical

assignments. Critical and contextual studies support this practical work, including in-depth use of research,

reflection and evaluation.

Units/topics covered:

Thirteen units over two years. Assignments will enable students to develop:

• Location Photography Techniques

• Narrative Image-making skills

• Critical and Contextual Awareness

• Studio Photography Techniques

• Personal and Professional Development

• Creative Portfolio Building

Type of assessment:

Students receive assessment feedback for each project. At the end of each unit there is a formal assessment by

portfolio and tutorial.

Equipment needed:

Students will need access to a digital SLR camera.

Where can it lead?

On successful completion of this course, students can apply to further study, including Higher National Diploma

courses, Degree courses, and Level 4 Foundation Diploma.

Course fee: £TBC

If you are under 19 on 31/08/2018, tuition is free. If you are 19 or over please consult Client Services for advice

and guidance on funding and eligibility.

Please be aware that there may be additional costs for equipment and educational visits. This information will be
