ThE FuTuRE OF DAnCE iS hEREAbout:
This year Leeds will host the national youth dance festival; u.Dance 2013. The festival celebrates outstanding new dance talent from across the country and invites you to join in the celebration. Seven distinctive public performances in high profile venues across the city have been programmed alongside a series of workshops, dance film screenings and a vibrant dance photography exhibition in the Leeds Gallery.
Over 700 young people from across Britain will be welcomed to Leeds over the 3 days, it is set to be an exciting event and you won’t see anything else like it this year.

Kicking off U.Dance 2013 in Leeds, Linda Jasper, Director of Youth Dance England, introduces Northern companies performing alongside groups from across Britain!

Workshop package 1
Raising Choreographic Standards for Dance Performance

3 days of dance in your city!Take advantage of this exciting event happening in your city – why not make a day of it – kick off with a trip to the vibrant Leeds Gallery and view dance film screenings and photography, stop and have a coffee at their cafe and then learn how to vogue and pose for the afternoon in one of our workshops. Head over to West Yorkshire Playhouse and watch a foyer performance, grab some dinner and catch the evening performance. Youth Dance CapturedIn his first exhibition, photographer Brian Slater will exhibit a series of his beautiful youth dance photography taken over his 22 years of experience. The exhibition will take place from the 16th – 21st July at the Leeds Gallery.
