Horsetail & Triple Falls
Lost LakeLoop
The trail starts out with a few
switchbacks that eventually turn
into a more moderately sloped
trail to the first falls, Pony Tail
Falls. If you keep going the trail
wanders around and then down
to more switchbacks that lead to
a bridge over the Oneonta Gorge.
Following the trail will take you to
Triple Falls.
Beautiful hike, lots of richly green
ferns and beautiful views of the
falls and the creek.

This is an easy walk around a
beautiful lake. There are some
bogs and wet areas, but the trail
accommodates them nicely with
bridges and planked walkways
that are well maintained. Around
the Northwest side of the lake you
will be surprised with gorgeous
views of Mt. Hood looking across
the lake to the Southeast.
Perfect for the younger crowd
along with great easy hike
with great views of Mt. Hood.
Swimming, fishing, hiking,
camping, & cabins.

McNeil Point
Old SalmonRiver Trail
Beginning of hike is through a
beautiful forest setting and is quite
relaxing. In some areas you are
walking through close-in brush. At
higher elevations you are above
the treeline where it is quite steep
& strenuous.
The Views of Mt. Rainier and Mt.
Adams from Old Rock Shelter
{McNeil Point} are fantastic espe-
cially on a clear day.

This is a great walk that allows
you to enjoy the beauty of the
Salmon River without much strain.
There are quiet pools, some white
water, and a pleasant sound as
the trail stays close to the river
most of the way. You’ll end at the
bridge where the Upper Salmon
trail picks up.
Lush greenery and calming
sounds of the river make this an
ideal relaxation hike.

LarchMountain Trail
AngelsRest
Starting in a fern-filled forest, the trail climbs uphill for 0.6 mile before reaching the top of Cooper Falls, a 150 to 175 foot horsetail waterfall, and the footbridge crossing the creek. Continuing on, the trail begins to switchback uphill for 1.6 miles before reaching the ridge crest. Use extreme caution at the steep cliff edge.
Some nice flower features of this hike are the wildflower displays of blue-eyed grass, star-flowered Smiliacina, and trillium at lower levels. Also you get a grand view of the Gorge once you reach the top.

This is a great trail to take on a
sunny afternoon. This route pro-
vides a very good look at several
falls along the way. Once you pass
Multnomah Falls, you enter a lush
green forest. You will pass no
less than 5 waterfalls on the way;
some are small and shallow, while
others are up to 40 feet or more
and plunge into deep green pools.

Once you get to the top of the trail
there is a large picnic area with
tables that makes for a nice lunch
break. The top vantage point
offers views to the following Cas-
cade Mountains. Mt. St. Helens,
Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood,
and the top of Mt. Jefferson.

Fish CreekTrail
Silver FallsLoop
The beginning of the hike is a
fairly steep 800 foot climb and
the number of hikers tapers
rapidly. The remainder of the hike
traverses a fairly steep incline
between the Clackamas River and
Fish Creek Mountain. There are a
few points where you will be just
above the river bank and others
where you’ll be quite a good
height from it.
As you walk along, you’ll see
many cliffs on the mountain side
and on the river, many color-
ful rafts taking on what looks
like some pretty hefty rapids. Of
course, the cliffs will bring some
small waterfalls and interesting
tree falls.
At the trail head take the right
hand trail, to save the many falls
for the return of the loop. You will
walk for about 2.5 miles before
getting to Winter Falls then shortly
thereafter North Falls. After North
Falls you will come upon falls after
falls so either bring lots of film or
be sparing with the camera.

The hike culminates in a walk
behind amazing South Falls,
Oregon’s tallest waterfall.
