A Note on Fonts
Sometimes if ou ust start tping in *reek, or ou paste from the %* or Perseus, it #ill comeout looking odd, like this@ j j. %his is $ecause %imes 3e#Roman, the default 8icrosoft font, does not ha'e all the accented *reek characters, so itreplaces the ones it doesnt ha'e #ith characters in a font called %ahoma.
%he #a to get around this is to select all of our *reek te&t and change its font to either%ahoma or Palatino inotpe. Palatino inotpe fits in $etter #ith %imes 3e# Roman, %ahoma$etter #ith )rial and other sans+serif fonts. Palatino inotpe runs a little larger than %imes3e# Roman, $ut this can $e fi&ed $ siing *reek te&t do#n to 11 point for a 1 pointdocument.
Sharing documents
8ac !S and indo#s use different fonts to handle *reek. *reek characters in a document#ritten on a indo#s computer ma not appear correctl on a 8ac computer, and 'ice 'ersa.
7f ou need to share our document #ith someone #ho is using a different operating sstem,it is $est to share it in hard cop or to turn the document into a PDF. %o con'ert a 8icrosoftord document into a PDF, ou ma need to use )do$e )cro$at Professional or another third+part program.
8ore information on con'erting 8icrosoft ord documents to other formats can $e found $searching the 8icrosoft !ffice #e$site@ [email protected]
