Anxious? Want peace above all else?God is already there…..but what two

parts must you play for harmony?

• We will never go higher than our thoughts

• Context of verse 4 and 5…..“the Lord is near”…..why important?

“Be Anxious For Nothing”(Phil 4:6)

• Jesus dealt with this - Matthew 6• What these words don’t mean:

- live shooting from hip (“think soberly”)- don’t plan (“no man sets to build tower

w/o first counting cost.”)

• Anxious is different than just thinking. Anxiousness weights one down.

Anxious?Want Peace?

• How?• A partnership….Philippians 4:6,8

• YOUR PRAYERS - in everything - with thanksgiving - ask boldly, plainly

Part One - Prayers

• Everything, Thanksgiving, Boldly/Plainly/Fully• Result?

- inexplicable peace- a guarded heart (desire), mind

(thoughts) - hard to pray often and sin as much• “….that they should seek God, if perhaps they

might feel (search) for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us”

- Acts 17:27

Part Two…Prayers and _____?

• PERCEPTION OR PICKING (what you choose to dwell upon)

• Verse 8 – “think on these things”• Proverbs 23:7 – “as a man thinks in his heart so

is he.”

• To what (or who) are you drawn? Are you chosen for the scoop, the joke, the gossip, or to be the anger partner for another?

What Will Help Determine Thoughts?

• Prayers, who hang around, what do• INVOLVEMENT IN CONGREGATION• How will you know the good?• “I would have despaired unless I had believed

that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; Be strong; take courage.” (Psalm 27:13-14)

• Be in place doing good!

Again…(vs 9)…Outcome = Peace

• Paul arrogant? No! Guided by H.S. into truth

• ARE YOU ANXIOUS? DO YOU CRAVE PEACE? • The “Great Physician” says it’s two-part

harmony. “Take two of these and call me every morning.” - Pray often - Pick wisely
