Harris was passing, and, hearing her screams, ran to her rescue. Although there was no fire near her, the womaa seemed "paralyzed with fear. Her res- cuer tried to carry her out into the street,' but her avoirdupois* was too much for him. Policeman. O'Connor came to the rescue and between them they • removed the frightened woman to a place Of safety.
