Trending – using hash ‘#’ tags

• In Twitter-land, trending means ‘popularity’ – the most used phrases/words that are being used

• You can take part in and invent your own hash tags to try and make things trend

• You can also view the current trends on your sign in page

• You can set the trending list by region to see what’s most popular in certain areas – London, UK, Worldwide!

• N.B: Worldwide will normally consist of one or both of these, ‘Jonas’ or ‘Bieber’, and we thought the average age of Twitter users was 39…..!
