Style, warmth, and attitude with a twist! Wrap your wrists in these cozy, lacy wristers and face winter hands first. From the French "menuet", meaning small, pretty, and delicate! Knitter level: Intermediate – Work lace pattern in the round. Make an I-Cord. Finished size: Adult women’s Small/Medium– To make these wristers bigger or smaller you may adjust the weight of the yarn and needle size. Materials: Worsted weight wool for the pattern as written. Size US #6 double pointed needles or size needed for yarn chosen and to meet gauge. Per example: 2.0 50g balls Valley Yarns “Northfield” 70% Merino/20%Baby Alpaca/10% Silk blend.175 g Options: Tapestry needle Gauge: 9.5 stitches per 2 inches in stockinette stitch Pattern: Right Hand: Cast 35 stitches onto one needle using the long tail cast on. Divide into 8 stitches on needle A, 8 on needle B, and 19 stitches on needle C. Join C to A, being careful not to twist. Row 1: *K2, P2*, Repeat between * 4 times. Knit the remaining 19 stitches on needle C. Row 2: *K2, P2*, Repeat between * 4 times, then on needle C start pattern; SSK, K1, YO, Tw2, YO, K3, Sl1, K2tog, PSSO, K3, YO, Tw2, YO, K1, K2tog.

Row 3-22: Repeat the preceding 2 rows for a total of 22 rows. This should be approximately 3 inches. This section could be extended for longer gloves. Row 23-26: Knit all stitches on needles A and B, continue in pattern on needle C on even rows and knitting on odd rows. Row 27: Begin increases for thumb (right hand). K1, M1, K3, M1, K 12. Knit around. Row 28: Knit all stitches on needle A and B, Knit pattern as in Row 2 on needle C. Row 29: K1, M1, K5, M1, K 12. Knit around. Row 30 and all even rows during thumb increase: Repeat Row 28. Row 31 and all odd rows during thumb increase: K1, M1, Knit 2 more than the previous row, M1, K 12. Knit around. Row 37: K1, M1, K13, M1, K 12. Knit around. Row 40: K2, slip next 15 stitches onto scrap yarn. These will make the thumb. M1 in first stitch after the 15 reserved, continue knitting to the end of needle B. There will be 16 stitches on needles A and B again. Continue in pattern on needle C. Row 41-50: Knit all stitches on needles A and B, continue in pattern on needle C on even rows and knitting on odd rows. Row 51: Loosely bind off all stitches and needles A and B. Bind off the first 8 stitches of the pattern on needle C. Place the last 8 stitches on a piece of scrap yarn or stitch holder. This leaves 3 live stitches still on the needle. I Cord: Use the 3 live stitches to knit an I-cord using double pointed needles. When the I-cord measures 1 inch, break yarn and draw through loops, leaving enough tail to sew the I-cord to the front of the glove. Row 51 continued: Reattach yarn and bind off remaining 8 stitches. Thumb: Using the same needles pick up the saved stitches of the thumb, 5 stitches on needle A, 5 stitches on needle B, and 5 stitches on needle C. Pick up one additional stitch on needle C from near the beginning of needle A. Row 1: Knit around to the last 2 stitches, K2Tog. Row 2- 7: Knit around. Row 8: Bind off. Left Hand: All exactly as for right hand, except reverse side of thumb increases. Row 27: K12, M1, K3, K1. Knit around. Continue following this change. Finishing I-cords: Sew ends of I-cords to the front of the wrister, between the spaces for the index and middle fingers. Sew in loose ends. Key: Sl = slip K = knit P = purl

PSSO = pass slip stitch over K2tog = knit 2 stitches together Tw2 = Twist 2 by knitting into 2nd and then the first stitch on left-hand needle then slip both stitches off the needle together M1 = Make one stitch by knitting into the front and then the back of the next stitch. BO = Bind off Check the blog for new patterns coming out… As always if you have any praise, problems or find any mistakes let me know!!! -KnittyVet www.knittyvet.etsy.com http://underhillhouse.blogspot.com/ http://www.facebook.com/underhillhouse Follow on Twitter @KnittyVet
