INTRODUCTION

Learn to create a ring, designed with pointed edges that wraps your finger when wearing it. It actually feels comfortable on your finger. Using only a minimum of 3

colors of seed beads, the ring's pattern of colors is showing from light to dark. You can also play with colors and make a ring that will match every outfit.

Measuring approximately 1.70 inches long and .70 inches wide, you can finish the ring within an hour.

The tutorial is catered for intermediate students. A basic knowledge of Herringbone and Peyote Stitch is required.in creating the ring. It has in-depth instructions and

ultra-clear, close-up photos at each step. Additionally, you can ask me question you have on the tutorial. No more getting stuck and frustrated on a confusing or just plain

inaccurate pattern.

If you followed this tutorial and then sell the accessory or jewelry, please give credit to the author or DIY Beading Club.com. You can click on the materials list for

Twin Rigate Beaded Ring Pattern

The pattern is composed of 7 Rounds of Herringbone and Peyote Stitch. The chosen colors are only suggestions. You may choose to use your preferred colors, but following the pattern how to divide the colors will achieve the same design as that of the Twin Rigate Beaded Ring.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Round 1

Cut at least 24 inches of beading thread. String 2 (B) and 1 (A). Referring to Fig. 1, weave clockwise and create a circle, leaving at least 6 to 7 inches tail. You may pass the thread twice into the beads and come out the 2nd (B) on the right. Referring to Fig. 2, you now have 3 corners shown in brackets.

Step 2: Round 2

Now, from here we're going to weave only in clockwise direction. The grey part on the graph is showing Round 1 or the round you have already created. Create your corner beads using Herringbone Stitch. Referring to Fig 3, string 1 (B) and (A) then pass the thread into the next bead, which is (A) from Round 1. Pull the thread. String again (A) and (B) then pass the thread into the next bead, (B). Pull the thread and then continue to string, this time 2 (B) and end your Round 2 by passing the thread into the next 2 beads.

On your beadwork this is how it should look like. Your thread is now in position to start Round 3.

Step 3: Round 3

Referring to Fig. 4, you have your side beads. Continue to weave your corner beads with Herringbone Stitch by stringing (B) and (A) then pass the thread into the next bead from Round 2, which is (A). Using Peyote Stitch add your side beads by stringing (A) then passing the thread into the next bead, which is (A) from your corner beads from Round 2. Repeat this step, following Fig 4 until you finish Round 3.

We are now on Round 4. Repeat with Herringbone Stitch to add your corner beads. You will notice that the side beads has increased its number. For Round 4 you now need to add 2 side beads. Refer to Fig. 5.

On your beadwork this is how it should look like.

Step 4: Round 5

We will now add a dark color to your beadwork so prepare your seed bead (C). To start Round 5, as usual add your corner beads using (B) and (A). For your side beads you now see on Fig 6 that its number has increased by 1 and you have included bead (C). Continue to weave in clockwise direction and follow the color of beads in Fig. 6 until you reach again the corner beads where you started Round 5.

Step 7:

Lastly, create an addition row at the bottom with the colors shown on Fig. 9.

Here, I have added the last row at the bottom.

You can now secure your thread. Pass the thread into several beads. You can make several knots if you wish and then cut off excess thread. Do the same for the tail end.

Step 8: Cut at least an arm span of thread. Repeat Step 1 to 6 and create a 2nd triangle. On the right is your 1st triangle with an additional row at the bottom. On the left is your 2nd triangle.

Now, we will connect the 2 triangles. With the thread from the 2nd triangle, pass the thread into (A) from the additional row you created on the 1st triangle.

Start weaving in zigzag direction, passing through the beads from the additional row on the 1st triangle and the beads on the row from the 2nd triangle.

Continue to weave in zigzag direction until you reach the other end. Pull the thread tight as you connect the the triangles.

Step 9: Once you reach the other end, make a U-turn and pass the thread into (A) from the 1st triangle. Come back down again, weaving in zigzag direction until you reach the bottom.

Page 17: TWIN RIGATE BEADED RING BEADING & JEWELRY MAKING … · 2014. 4. 29. · Twin Rigate Beaded Ring Pattern The pattern is composed of 7 Rounds of Herringbone and Peyote Stitch. The

When you reach the bottom, go back up again in zigzag direction. Remember to keep pulling the thread tight.

You'll notice that as you weave and pull the thread tight, the beadwork starts to cup-up a little at the center.

Step 10: Creating the ring band

You are now finished connecting the triangles and your thread is in position to create the ring band with Herringbone Stitch. String 2 (A). Make a U-turn and pass the thread back into (A) from the 1st triangle. Pull the thread.

After pulling the thread weave clockwise by passing the thread into the beads with red dots. Again, pull the thread.

Step 11:

Repeat Step 10. String 2 (A), weave clockwise passing through the beads with red dots. Keep on weaving until you reach your desired length to fit your finger.

Step 12: When you reach your desired length, connect the ring band into the triangle, weaving in clockwise direction. Secure your thread. Pass through several beads in different directions. You may make knots, if you wish then cut off excess thread and you're done!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I consider myself a late bloomer when it comes to crafting. I’m a self-taught jewelry

maker. Jewelry making wasn’t really a hobby of mine, but unforeseen events lead

me to learn jewellery making. My family put up a craft store where we sell cross

stitch, beads and all sorts of crafting materials. I fell in love with the beads and tried

to create accessories only for myself. Clients liked the pieces and I started

customizing handmade jewelleries. The craft store was a success for 6 years, but

like any other small businesses we had to close it down and I was confined to

staying at home. While at home I had all the time using the internet and now working

as a home-based jewelry designer
