What is Twibes?

• Twibes allows to organize tweets by topics

• Interest groups are called “Twibes”– Collects Twitter conversations with a similar topic

• Tweets with similar keyword and hashtags from Twibe members

• Users can– Join up to 10 Twibes (interest groups)– Create 3 Twibes on their own

• Twibes can add a list on your Twitter account for each Twibe you join

How to use Twibes

Three simple steps

• Login using your Twitter account• Find a Twibe that matches your interests

– By Searching for a keyword– By browsing through categories

• Join a Twibe by tweeting about this topic– Directly on the Twibe’s page– Or using one of the keywords describing the Twibe– Add a Twibe to your standard Twitter lists

Conclusion

• Twibes extends the standard Twitter lists– By using a combination of member tweets, hashtags and keywords to filter out

tweets that don’t belong in the Twibe

• Threading makes following conversations easier

BUT• The functionality of the tool is sometimes fuzzy and not reliable• The search functionality only searches in existing “Twibes”• Creation of “Twibes” not working at the moment
