Message from the President - Janet Baca
TWFF FLY-LINES
Hello TWFF, I hope everyone had a great time over the Holidays and got to do some fishing! I was blessed enough to get to spend the Thanksgiving week with my family in Broken Bow. The weather was nice but cold! The cold didn't stop us from catching a lot of trout throughout the week. The Christmas break was very different story it was wet, cold and flu and no fishing for me or Emery ending December 2018 with Trout Fever and both of us chomping at the bit to drop a line in the nearest pond! LOL Now on to club stuff. Thanks everyone for taking a minute of your time to reg-ister your vote for the new Board Members! The results are in on the club Board Member voting ballot—see page 8. We are still in need of a Secretary for the board; if you would like to volunteer please let one of the board mem-bers know. Two regional Christmas parties occurred in December, one in Ft. Worth and one in Austin. I hope some of you were able to attend one of these parties. Hopefully, in 2019, we can have more TWFF hosted Christmas par-ties in different areas. Thank you Dana Williams and Julie Wooten for hosting the two we did have.

Message from the President (cont’d) We also had a vote that took place for Honorary Membership to TWFF. The ones that were chosen were; Pat and Don Carlson. I was glad to see that these two would be recognized by TWFF, for all their hard work and dedication to the club over the years! Congratulations! I want to take this time to say my farewells to the club as I step down and the new President; Dana Williams takes over. I have enjoyed the time spent as President of TWFF, but I also look forward to getting back to fishing a lot more on these outings we have! I appreciate all the encouragement and support the club has shown me over the last four years as President! A very grateful and heartfelt "Thank You" to all those new board members that stepped up to the challenge that awaits them rep-resenting TWFF! I hope to see the new board members pick up the club and do great things in the next few years! I believe the excitement and enthusiasm the new board members bring to the club will benefit us all as it seems to be contagious and will hopefully spread by bringing in larger numbers of women to TWFF and introducing them to Fly Fishing here in Texas. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Guadalupe Outing in January! Thank you and Tight Lines! Janet Baca
TWFF Honorary Membership Recipients—Pat and Don Carlson
Don and I would like to thank the amazing ladies of TWFF for this wonderful honor of honorary member-ship in TWFF. Shortly after starting our adventure in fly fishing, we became acquainted with Texas Women Fly Fishers and attended out first outing at Honey Creek in 2010 where several talented ladies took us under their wing and taught us the skills that we are still trying to im-prove on today. Ironically, at the 2012 Honey Creek outing I was ap-proached and later elected to serve as president of this great organization. My posse (board members) and I had a great ride. Our membership rose to over 150 and our outreach to Casting for Recovery, Project Healing Waters, several women’s events, and various conservation efforts brought great pride to our mem-bers. This is a small part of the history of TWFF that Don and I joined and continues today. It has truly been an honor and great pleasure to be as-sociated with the diverse and talented ladies and gen-tlemen of TWFF. Thank you again!

REGIONAL TWFF CHRISTMAS PARTIES Ft. Worth Area Party Thank you to Juliet and Ron Wooten who hosted a party at her home on Lake Worth. Attendees tied flies and had some good eats! Those in attendance were Janet and Emory Baca, Kay and Les Jackson, Debbie Williams, and Merilyn Evans. BROKEN BOW RECAP by Janet Baca & Donna O’Toole
The Weather for the last outing of the year in Broken Bow was very nice, and we had a good turnout
from the club starting the weekend off early on Thursday meeting up with half the attendees at the
Grateful Head Pizza Place in Hochatown, OK.
Our guest speaker on Friday night at the Mullet Mixer, was
Dutch Baughman representing the FFI, Texas Council. He
did a great presentation on reading the water and received
rave reviews from the club members! Thank you, Dutch your
presentation helped a lot of the ladies in the club and we look
forward to having you again as a speaker! After the presen-
tation, we had our regular raffle of guided trips from the Bea-
vers Bend Fly Shop. Thank you, Roberta and Eddie for work-
ing with us over the years!

The following ladies were the happy winners for the Saturday guide trips: Adrienne Barnett, Donna O’Toole, Kathy Miller, Janet Baca, Karen Fabac, Julie Sieh, LaJan Barnes and Carol Olewin. All the ladies that went out with the guide caught a lot of trout. The overall fishing this year on the Lower Mountain Fork was good with everyone catching something even a bluegill and a bass. On Saturday night we ended the weekend eating dinner at the Blue Rooster. We had a couple of raffles that we did, two of them were for two huge wine baskets. The club members donated bottles of wine to help reach our CfR goal of $2000.00, and the other was for the CfR Sage Grace Rod 8wt Combo. Below are the winners of the three raffles held on Saturday night.
