40 Days for Life is a peaceful prayer vigil held outside of abortion facilities nationwide to pray for an end to abortion and to offer sup-port and alternatives for women in crisis pregnancies. Approximate-ly 2,000 abortions take place yearly at the Charleston Women’s Medical Center, 1312 Ashley River Road in West Ashley. Will you help us reduce this number with your prayers and presence outside the center? Our fall campaign begins September 28 and runs through November 6. During this time, we need two prayer witness-es every hour in order to keep the vigil going. Won’t you join us to end the evil of abortion? Please email us at [email protected] or visit our website to create a login and choose a time: https://40daysforlife.com/charleston. Or call Susan Zeleniak at 703-328-2334.
MEMORIAL BRICKS: An engraving order for bricks in the Memorial Garden is being put togeth-er for late fall. Brick order forms can be found in the back of the church. For more information, please call Nancy Biddlecom at 843-906-5817.
MEN'S CLUB MONTHLY BREAKFAST - For several reasons the Men's Club will not be able to offer breakfast this Sunday. We will try to offer it beginning next month.
WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER: As men and women of God we are to “pursue right-eousness, devotion, faith, love, patience and gen-tleness.” We are called to keep his commandment to love one another as he has loved us. Is this evi-dent in your lives and marriages? The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekends are: Sep 30 - Oct 2, 2016 in Myrtle Beach, SC and Nov 4-6, 2016 in Atlantic Beach, NC. Early sign up is recommended. For more information visit our website at: https://SCMarriageMatters.org or contact us at [email protected] or 803-810-9602.
MINI RETREAT: The Theresians of Charles-ton invite everyone to join in a celebration of St. Therese the Little Flower on her feast day, Octo-ber 1, 2016 at 9am at May Forest, 424 For t Johnson Road on James Island. Share an explo-ration of Doctor of the Church, St. Therese’s life and “Little Way” to heaven. Celebrate Mass of St. Therese’s feast day at 11am followed by her Dies Natalis brunch. $10 (cash or check payable to the Theresians of Charleston). To RSVP, call Joanne Lannie, 843-406-4735.
