“Everything I have is yours.”(Luke 15:31)

Our Heavenly Father gives us everything, including the chance to share in His eternal kingdom. Yet, like the Prodigal Son we are often lured away by the materialism of our society. Do we really want to turn our backs

on all that God offers in exchange for a material wealth that has no lasting value?

We are committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and vulnerable adults.

Have a good week,Brian, Martin &Vicki

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE.

In recent weeks I have been privileged to see our school students in the Little Chapel at Resurrection and in the Big Hall at St Anthony's rehearsing for their school production. Our children were full of life and energy each time I saw them. Nothing really prepared me for the quality of our productions, both held at Nazareth College in North Noble Park.

Wednesday night I attended the Resurrection school production, BROADWAY, where everyone shines. On Friday night I tended the St Anthony's school production, Alice in Wonderland Junior. All classes and students were given the opportunity to sing and dance. I, like the parents, were dazzled and amazed at these wonderful productions. I often looked around me to see the pride and joy on the faces of the parents and our staff.

We certainly have much to be proud of. Our dedicated school staff who worked very closely with our students, in the Arts, calling on our students to grow and develop their creative side. It was lovely to see some of our students who often struggle, flourish and shine. It certainly proved that

we all have different gifts and talents and we are called to develop them for the greater good of all and when we work together, doing our part, great things can be achieved.

To the staff, parents who helped with sets, costumes etc. well done, it was worth all the hard work and time you all put in. Thank you to Tanya (Resurrection) and Victoria (St Anthony's) who have been the master minds behind these two productions. To all the staff who then supported and worked towards the success of our productions.

I was filled with so much pride and joy to see our children excel in the Arts. Those who were able to sing, those who played the musical instruments, those who danced the night away, while remaining in character that told us a wonderful story. Thank you to all concerned. No matter how busy we get may we always value the Arts that develop another side of our life. Let's also remember to give thanks to God for the gift of self and one another.

Mary MacKillop Today Appeal

An enormous ’thank you÷ to the parishioners of Resurrection Parish, Keysborough, for their faith-filled

support of the Parish Appeal held recently.

A very generous $1,099.20 was raised to support the works

of Mary MacKillop Today in Australia and overseas.

Your support means that we can continue our community partnerships supporting men, women, children and

communities with practical life skills in education, health, financial inclusion and livelihoods.

We thank you for your support and mostly for your ongoing prayers.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 29 is Social Justice Sunday and we're planning – with your help – to make a difference!

We have offered to assist Launch Housing Dandenong (Bob's Place) crisis accommodation which offers short stays, intensive case management, and advocacy services for families, couples and singles. Amongst their many services they offer a 'showering program' where people doing it tough may have a shower and a meal, to restore their self-dignity.We would like to assist them by providing travel-sized toiletries, sanitary products, new underwear and new socks.Your donation will contribute practically to the huge problem of homelessness. The simple acts of showering, of having a meal, may help a disconnected person want to reconnect with the community, and to reach out for further assistance. Please do not underestimate small acts of kindness and the role you can play.

How about it parishioners? Can you help with donations?Simply bring them along to any Mass through the month of October, or drop them into the Parish centre. If you'd prefer, gift cards (Big W, Kmart…) are also most welcome!
