Stewardship: A Way of Life

21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

“If it does not please you to serve the Lord, decide today whom you will serve...As for

me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15

When we commit to serve the Lord, we must be willing to become a partner in the work of the Lord. A partner is a per-son who invests time in prayer every day, joyfully participates in charitable works and gener-ously supports the parish and Church mission. If we say we serve God, we must actually do something and not merely talk about it!

Please keep these parishioners and family members in your prayers:

Dorothy Bomkamp Dakota Frank Daniels Bob Dibble Marilyn Erspamer Anna Furlano Tracy Guenther Mary Hagen Jim Holterman Bill Hupp Don Hying Jim Jenkins Marion Kaiser Theresa Kingsbury Kathleen Knight Loren Krueger Scot Nelson Bob Pakes Kathy Rand Barb Rogan Rob Rosa Harry Saalfeld Gertrude Slein Kathy Trimberger Letitia Tyrrell Bob Urban Brett Urban

WORD OF LIFE: “Perhaps one of your friends has become pregnant unexpectedly. As someone who has been there, I encourage you to support your friend in her new journey of being a mother.” Not sure how to help or what to say? Learn more at usccb.org/support-her

CROSS CATHOLIC OUTREACH VISIT: Please welcome Fr. Richard Kunzman who will speak at all the Masses at St. Mary and St. Joseph parishes this weekend on behalf of Cross Catholic Outreach which was founded to create a meaningful link between parishes in America and the priests and nuns working in the Church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Please be generous in your response to Father’s appeal. Brochures will be provided if you wish to support this worthy Catholic ministry.

Prayer of the Faithful: So that as a parish we might help the oppressed, free the captives, console the sorrowing, feed the hungry, give shelter to the weak, and in all that we do, share in the sacrifice and victory of the cross.

RCIA: In John's gospel we hear: “No one can come to me unless the father who sent me draw him.....Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from

him comes to me." Is God calling you to become a member of the Catholic faith? Soon we will start classes for the

upcoming season of RCIA. If you or someone you know is feeling called by

God to work toward becoming a member of the Catholic church or you have not been confirmed in high school and now want to experience the sacrament in your adult years, please call your parish office and register for the upcoming night of introduction to RCIA.

Juniors & Seniors~

We are excited to offer monthly group facilitators from the parish and community,

Bible studies, additional special events/guest speaker events at other churches and

schools, and opportunities to continue to grow in your faith as confirmed Catholic

Christians thru Apostolic (like the apostles) Actions. Many of you have attended

Love Begins Here mission trips and Steubenville on the Lake events during the

summer. In our parish Outreach Commission, we continue to learn of additional

needs in our community including those of MAYC (Milton Area Youth Center) and

their homeless youth. We hope you’ll join us and continue living, loving and serving

as Jesus did as we provide you with more opportunities. ~ sabrina
