Proper Faith Formation will prepare your kid for greatness! I think most parents want what’s best for their kids: they give them plenty of food, clothe them, shelter them, make sure they do their homework, and take care of them when they are sick. They want their kid to suc- ceed in life and do their best. The one thing kids and we all need most to succeed is God. God is Almighty and with him we can do anything, without him we can’t do anything. Sure he might not give us power, wealth, health, or honor, but he teaches by the beatitudes that even when we don’t have those things that the world claims as the best, Jesus WILL give us the best, God himself! And give us joy and greatness even when we don’t have worldly goods! With God ALL things are possible! Jesus says in the Gospels “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Mat 17:20. Jesus wants the best for us, he wants us to be great, and by living in him, by following his Commandments, and receiving him in the Sacraments WE WILL BE GREAT! God will give us what we need to be great, he will give us himself, and all we have to do is accept his gift! We have the example of the saints who have stopped great evil, who have bi-located, read minds, flown, cured great diseases, or just simple things like fought sin in their life, fought hunger and sin in other peo- ple’s lives, comforted the sick, and endure suffering patiently with Christ, each doing their part to be great servants of the kingdom of God. Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta said once, “Don't look for big things, just do small things with great love.” The greatest thing we can do with our life is love, for it is in doing so we act with God! Prepare yourself and your child for greatness, for the grand kingdom of God! Ask yourself what can you do to better help yourself, your family, and your friends be better? Per- haps its pray more as a family or in public, perhaps its learn more about the faith of Christ, perhaps it’s to talk more about Christ’s faith, perhaps it’s just to show you love more, perhaps it’s to volunteer more as a family? Find something AND DO IT! And be prepared for greatness! Blessed Mother Theresa pray for us that we may have the boldness to be as great as you are, finding little ways to show great love, through Jesus Christ. Amen. Welcome to our Parish Cluster We’re glad you’re here! Catholic Services Appeal The 2015 Catholic Services Appeal is an opportunity for us, as a faith family, to join together to do the work of the Lord. All families are encouraged to support the Catholic Services Appeal. By giving to the Catholic Services Ap-peal, you are answering God’s call to discipleship to put the work of God before your own needs. The Church serves each of us in some way and our financial support is needed to continue God’s work in our area. In addition, every dollar contributed to the Appeal assists our parish in offsetting our yearly diocesan assessment responsibly to our Diocesan Church. This year the assessment for St. Joseph Church is $29,887. So far we have raised $4,130 leaving a balance of $25,757. The assessment for Our Lady of the Lakes is $23,545. Please give generously.
