In this little tutorial you will get basic idea about how you can highlight all your light sources in the focal points in your scene. We are using Photoshop CS5 and a terribly ugly scene made by ourfriend Javan Arraes . The worst gym ever seen in my life. We´ll try to do a miracle and save it. (he'll kill me when read this, hehe). The ideal for procedures like this one is to use non-destructivetechniques only (like layer masks and adjustment layers). So, let's begin...
*** First of all, you must go to Google and look for lens flare ´s images. Any one will work for us. So just open your 2 images in Photoshop like bellow :

STEP ONE: For now, please just click, hold and drag the image you chosen in Google into your scene.

STEP TWO: Please take the top layer and change it´s blend mode from Normal to Screen. You'll notice that your lens flare shape got a better look.

STEP THREE: Place your first light source image on the ceiling fixture. Click CTRL J to copy the layers and repeat the procedure for each point of light and merge them. Keep the Screen blend mode.

STEP FIVE: Go to background layer and click Image > Adjustments > Shadows/Highlights . Using your sense and feeling, try fix the lights and shadow areas where your render engine fail.

STEP SIX: Remain in background layer and click Ctrl+L to adjust and fix a little more the lights and shadow areas.

STEP SEVEN: Remain in background layer and click menu Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast . Play to taste with the sliders until you are satisfied with the scene contrast.

STEP EIGHT: Now we´ll try a little more sharpen effect. Click CTRL +J to duplicate the background layer and go to Filter > Other > High Pass .

STEP NINE: Change the blend mode from Normal to Overlay or High Light. You will get a much more sharpen look in the image. Mask the effect if needed.
