Tutorial: Installing USB-Floppy Emulator As there are less Computers that support floppy drives, there is a method to update your TRITON to use a USB-Stick instead of the floppy-disks. A “USB Floppy-Emulator” enables you to put your data on a USB-Stick, while your TRITON still finds a Floppy drive. Handling of the data is similar to normal floppy-disks: Formatting, save, load,… All of that, still the same. The “USB Floppy-Emulator” can be found on the internet for about ~30 Euros. Nothing needs to be changed on Software on the TRITON. The Installation is pretty easy. Basically all you need to do, is changing the Floppy-drive with the new hardware. So here is the description on how to install the “USB Floppy-Emulator” First of all turn your Triton to the rear, and open all screws. After you’ve done that you’ll find the Foppy-Drive unfixed with just the two cables into it. Basically one for data and one for power supply.

Tutorial: Installing USB-Floppy Emulator

As there are less Computers that support floppy drives, there is a method to update your TRITON to use a USB-Stick instead of the floppy-disks.

So here is the description on how to install the “USB Floppy-Emulator”

First of all turn your Triton to the rear, and open all screws. After you’ve done that you’ll find the Foppy-Drive unfixed with just the two cables into it. Basically one for data and one for power supply.

Now remove the two cables from the old Floppy-Drive and plug them into the new hardware. Both plugs are coded, that there is only one way to put them in.

The Floppy-Drive keeps its place by four screws through the back cover of the TRITON. As the new hardware will be installed the very same way, you first need to put the cover back on your TRITON. Now keep the “USB Floppy-Emulator” on its place, while you put the screws through the back cover to mount the new hardware.

That’s it All done.

Now Startup your TRITON, and plug your USB-Stick into.

The USB-Stick is recognized to be unformatted. Once you did that, the USB-Stick operates like your FLOPPY did.
