STEPS IN CREATING FORMULA FOR GRADING SHEETS IN K-12
1.
Type all the data for your grading sheet
2.
Position your active cell on the cell where you want to put the descriptive grade
3.
Type the following formula in the formula bar
4.
After typing the formula press enter.
5.
Copy the formula to the other cells using the copy paste function or the click and drag method
Move your cursor to whereyou want to put the
descriptive grade
Note: K11 is the cell reference used in the
formula for M11. This reference varies
depending on the position of the cell you
want to evaluate
Move your mouse
pointer at the lower
right corner of the cell
you want to copy, then
wait till your mouse
pointer turns to +,click and drag your
mouse downward to
where the formula
should be copied.

STEPS IN PUTTING CONDITIONAL FORMATTING FOR GRADING SHEETS IN K-12
1.
Select the cells you want conditional formatting be applied
2.
On the Home Tabunder the Styles Groupselect Conditional formatting
3.
On the New Formatting Rule Dialog box
Selected cells should be
highlighted
Select
New Rule
Select Format only cells
that contain
Select less than from the
drop down list box
Type 74.5 (since 74.5 and below will beconsidered failure and will have a red
mark)
Click on Format to open the Format
Cells dialog box

When the format cells dialog box is opened,

Copy the formula to the other cells using the copy paste function or the click and drag method that we have
learned a while ago.

Since we only selected two cells a while ago, we will do the same formatting for the other cell.
Click on the inverted
triangle to display the
default colors and choose
red pallette
Click OK
when done
Now you will go back to the New
Formatting Rule dialog box,
when all is set click OK.

should be

default colors and choose
red pallette
Click OK
