How to build a Dark Eldar Harvester

by Spacefrisian

Here is a Step by step guide how i build my Harvester.

For those who don´t know about the Harvester this is it.

What do you need.1 Ravager, 1 Raider, Plasticcard, greenstuf and you´re other usual tools, and a helping Nephew would help as well(at least for me)

Step 1.

Cut of the front prows of the 4 raider pieces, be carefull not to damage them (or yourself) you will need them, also try to cut out the drivers seat as well you will be needing this.

Step 2.

Glue the raider pieces together as normal and then glue their bellys to each other, (note that i have made it myself easier by pinning them first and then glueing them together. I also glued the 2 halves of the prow together (Image 2)

Step 3.

This is sligtly differend then on the pic i shown due to it that i wanted troop transport capability on it. This is also a simple step.

Just conect the transport part to the engine part. And follow this up by plastic card to solidify it. As wel as making it somewhat nicer.

The smaller piece was made from the rails that come from the raider and the lower part of chaos dozerblades, this is an open option so you may consider yourself what you want.

Step 4.

I started this one with figuring out where to put the first gunner. With help of my nephew i decided to put it on the front prowl, just like the Raider.

I have added some plastic card underneath the prowl to provide the gunner a place to stand upon. The legs of the gunner also had to be slightly modified by removing the spikes and bending the legs slighty together. Then i glued the Dark lance on and glued and greenstuff this to the main body.

Step 5.Started on the wings. Not much although. Cause the center piece needed to dry up. I cut a small piece out of the former transport plates and dryfitted the chair multiple times until i was satified and glued the pieces together.

Step 6.

Covered the part where the driverseat is supposed to come. I first cut a piece of plasticcard and then added metal ravager pieces to it. Its actually harder than it looks like and may take more time than expected.

filled litle holes up with green stuff.

Step 7.Put the wings in place after i have added the armes and the darklance and crew to it, this is just a work of dry fitting again. When they were finished and somehwat dried i put the wings in place and covered it up with a piece of Plasticcard and the original front prowl bottom.

Step 8.Created the driver i setled on the tough looking pirate look. I like it. and place on the Harvester. Also added the 2 other prowl sides next to the driver.

Step 9.

Began solidifieng position mainly under the wings they tend to bow down. (might need to replace the Dark lances somewhat.) Also drilled a hole underneath it to make place for the base pole.

Step 10.

The finished product (save for some reworking on visible GS). added some vicious looking scythes and such.

It needs painting now and then its time to get me some slaves.

BTW: after much consideration i decided to ad a Twinlinked Disintegrator to it. You'll see where i've stuck it after its been painted.

And the rules to go along:

Heavy:

Front: 12 Side:11 Rear:10 Bs: 4 Points: 220

Type: Skimmer, fast, opentopped

Wargear: 3x dark lance, disintegrator, scythes

Transport: It can carry up to 15 models.

Special rules:

-Spirit stones:count crew stunned as crew shaken instead.

-Dark Field: Shots fired upon it out of 12" make the vehicle no longer count as opentopped

-Stability Fields: All Dark Eldar Transports have sophisticated inertial dampening fields built into the decks that decrease the effects of turbulance and velocity for transported warriors. The vehicle counts as moving 6" less for purposes of transported models firing ranged weapons, and count as being stationary if the vehicle moved no more than 3" total.

Options:

-It may upgrade its Dark lances to disintegrator for 5 points each.

-It may take up to 5 Splintercannons at 5 points each but each Splinter cannon reduces its transport capability with 1.

May take:

-Horrorfex 5-Nightshield 20-Screaming jets 10-Scaling nets 10-Slavesnares 15-Throphy Racks 5-Scythes 10
