Place the camera in the position range of in between 90 o - 110 o. 3. Appendix 1 

APAS 3D SETUP & ANALYSIS

 

CAPTURE

1.  Label the stick number accordingly ( 1-8 ) in the correct position.2.  Place the camera in the position range of in between 90o- 110o.

3.  Capture the setup area for 8 – 10 seconds ( for the purpose of calibration ) › Transfer video into the computer & save the video file ( Eg. Calibration Master cam

T R IMM E R 1.  Open video file (Eg. Subject 1_Trial 1_Cam 2 & Subject 1_Trial 1_Master Cam).2.  Click on one of the frame of C am 2 (Start of the Action/Motion) à Click “Synch”.3.  Click on one of the frame of M as t er C am (Start of the Action/Motion) à By trial &

error, find the correct same frame as of the other camera and “Synch” until it is at the same position on both camera.

4.  On the frame of the ending of the action, add in another 10 frames à Click “Trim End”.5.  On the frame of the starting of the action (Frame with the “Synch” symbol),

advance6.  another 10 frames à Click “Trim Start”.7.  Go to File à Click “Save Trimming”.

Select both of the saved trimmed video clips (N ame o f f il e . tr i m. a v i ) .6. Click “ Control” Click “ Digitize” Click “O pen Video” Click “ AVI File” (

open the video of C a li br a t i on M as t er C a m ) Select one of the video clip’s frame. 7. Click on the “ Fix Point” (one of t he cone) Click on the markers of the stick from

1 – 24 according to the sequence of the stick from 1 – 8 (numbering from outside towards inside).

8. Click “ Control” Click “Finish”. 9. On the opened tr imm ed video frame of ‘ Subject 1_Trial 1_Master Cam’ Click

on the “ Fix Point” ( one of t he cone – must use the same Fix Point for every frames)

10. Click on the relevant point of movement (Eg. Right Shoulder, Right Elbow, Right Wrist) frame by frame till the end ( Click on t he “ Next 8” butt on).

11. Repeat the above mentioned Hi g h li g h t ed steps f o r t he oth e r c a m e r a ( C a li bra t i on C am 2 ) .

12. Exit the menu of “DIGITIZE” 

T R A N S FORM 1. Open File (CF file created earlier on Subject 1_Trial 1.cf).2. A table will appear Click “YES” on both rows.3.    

4. Click “3D” Exit the menu of “TRANSFORM”.  FIL T E R 1. Click on “3D Icon” (to open 3D file N ame o f f il e . 3 d ).2. Smooth the graph of X, Y and Z.

Type (Eg. Linear) Quantity (Eg. Velocity) Joint/Seg (Choose the joint to analyse) Component (Eg. 3D)

3. Explore & Display the relevant data through Table Stick Figure Movie Movie + Stick Figure

Appendix 2:Motions analysis

Vicon Nexus : Data Management

Open the system and wait for the cameras turn on in to green color

Click “show and hide data management” button or press f2 button on key board

Click on new data base button and fill the new data base file.

Select file name you have given before and click open

Click on green button ( New patient classification)Click yellow button (New patient)Click on grey button (New session)

*Rename the above files by right click on mouse.

Find the location as “new volume (D:)> vicon data then click “OK”.Fill in the name and description.Choose “clinical template 2FP.eni” than click on “create” button

Vicon Nexus : Hardware setup and cameras calibration 

After file the data management file( Subject file) change the camera view into ‘camera’

Put randomly 5 to 6 marker (up to you) in the volume that you want to test your subject.

Than select camera #1 until 6 one by one to adjust the threshold of the camera

Change grey scale mode to “all”

Change grey scale mode to “all”

Vicon Nexus : Hardware setup and cameras calibration setup

Adjust the threshold until you get the better “brightness inside the circle”.Repeat and complete this procedure with all markers and all the camera.After that, change back the GRAYSCALE MODE to Auto.

Now move to video camera setting.Click ACTIVATE at the “ Video Calibration Setup”.And now setting the threshold of the video camera to the suitable threshold.

Select all cameras and click “start” at Mask cameras.Wait until every reflector on the 7 screen turn in blue color then click stop.

* If we accidentally touch the Vicon Camera, we need to calibrate the camera again but we no need to set the setting before.

When u click start button, the red rectangles will appear.

Wave the wand until the red triangle turn to green and at the end the green triangle gone. The calibration will stop automatic.

The calibration value is considered good if the value is lest then 0.1.. And it’s different with the Bonita camera.

Now, move to the step of “Set Volume Origin”. * When set the origin, remember to check the water level of the wand when putting onto the Force Plate.

Vicon Nexus: Static Model Calibration

Click the “Subject” Click middle icon choose the type Plug In Gait

Click the subject name that you have setup in the earlier “(Plug In Gait)”, fill in the subject properties.

Click “start” at the subject capture to have a static subject capture. Capture it for 2 seconds. Then click the button again to stop capture.

Drag the timeline to look for a frame that have all the marker.Put in the marker name.Than press ECS key on keyboard.

Click the “Static Plug-in-Gait” at subjects.

1. Click the “VPI Compatibility Run static gait model”2. Click the “setting” . And it will come out a “static Setting”3. Key in the size of marker and tick the box that provide at “assume horizontal”.

Then click “ok” full body– tick all three box Lower body– tick left foot and right foot

4. Click “Start”

Save the trial.

Click “Go live” to get the connection.

Click the capture button.Click the “Start” to start capture.Click it again to stop it.

Go to the “Gap filling”, than fill in the marker.Choose the marker that are nearest and with the same flow to fill in.# If the range of gap is less than 10 frame use Spline fill# If the range more than 10 frame use Pattern Fill

# If two marker keep on changing with the label, pull back the cone until the right flow, then click the forward button, than fill in the gap.

1, Click “pipeline”2, At Current Pipeline, choose Dynamic Plug-in Gait3, Click “Run” button4, Save the trial.

*You can also check the components on the Force Plate.

If over crop, go into Data Management, double click the trial, right click, then, click the “Delete File”, Next Click the “Vicon file.

Vicon Nexus: AdvanceUsing Nexus with EMG & Force plate

Follow this procedure before run static plug in gait

Go into the “Start”, Click the “Trigno Control Utility”.

Open the EMG first, then Click the start button.* The EMG used will show the connection.

1. Change the screen view in to two

2. Change the lower view into graph

3. Right click at the “Delsys Trigno EMG”, then click the Zero level

4. Rename the EMG used and save the name of EMG on the specific muscles.

1. Start the Force plate.2. Press the “Auto Zero” button to

make sure there’s no any noise on the Force Plate

The upper figure showed there is noise on the Force Plate. Therefore, we need to set the Force Plate back to the normal like the figure below by clicking the “Zero Level” button.

Click the button in the circle shaped followed by File Transfer.Select the video that not transferred and click “Transfer Files”*If finish transfer the video, your Files’ column will have the yellow icon with capital ‘M’.

1. Go into the Data management, open the video transfer, and click the “Batch Processing”

2. press the “Space Bar” at the trial you want.3. Click on the “Reconstruct And Label”4. Click the button “Play”

Finish the step just now, continue with the same steps but choosing different properties which is “Dynamic Plug-in Gait”
