WHERE IS TURKEY ?
Turkey is a bridge between Asia and Europe.
It is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea, Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. Turkey also borders Greece, Bulgaria, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Armenia, Russia, and Georgia. The capital of Turkey is Ankara.
Main cities in Turkeyİstanbul ,İzmir, Ankara and Bursa are four of the biggest cities in Turkey.

TURKEY FACTS
Turkish is spoken in Turkey. It has got eight vowels and twenty-one consonants. We use Latin characters since 1928.
Turkish flag is red and there is a moon and a star. Our flag's shape arised from the reflection of the sky (The New Moon and Jupiter) onto a blood pond in the Independence War.

History of Turkey
The Ottoman Empire was found in 1281 by Ertuğrul Gazi in Bursa.
The conquest of İstanbul in 1453 by Fatih Sultan Mehmet.
The Turkish army fought bravely against enemies under the command of great leader Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK in World War I.
The TurkIsh Republic was founded on 29th of OctOber 1923.
Mustafa kemal atatürk has made lots of revolutions and reforms to establish a modern powerful republic.

Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK (1881- 1938) He is the great leader and statesman of modern Turkish Republic.

A beautiful, talented famous pop singer. She won the Eurovision song contest in 2003 with her song “Everyway that I can”
Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu 1894-1973
He was a Turkish minstrel and highly regarded poet of the Turkish folk literature. He was an ashik, a poet, songwriter, and a bağlama virtuoso. He was blind for most of his lifetime. His songs are usually sad tunes, often talking about the inevitability of death. However he does use a wide range of themes for his lyrics; based on morals, values and constant questioning on issues such as love, care, beliefs and how he "sees" the world as a blind man.
Sinan the Architect 1490-1588
He was the chief Ottoman architect (Turkish: "Mimar") and civil engineer for sultans Suleiman the Magnificient, Selim II, and Murad III. He was responsible for the construction of more than three hundred major structures and other more modest projects. His apprentices would later design the Sultan Ahmet Mosque in İstanbul, Stari Most in Mostar and help design the Taj Mahal in the Mughal Empire. His masterpiece is the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, although his most famous work is the Suleiman Mosque in İstanbul.
Selimiye Mosque in Edirne is in Unesco’s world cultural heritage list.
