The Bosphorus Cup; Organized by ORG Sports and Turkish Sailing Federation (TSF) on 28-31 May 2015.

1. Applicable rulesThe races will be governed by the “rules” as defined in the 2013-2016 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), ISAF Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) 2014-2015 ISAF Regulation 20 (Advertising Code), IRC Rules 2015,Turkish Sailing Federation (TSF) prescriptions on Organization of Races Sailor’s Licenses, Registrations, Endorsements and Transfer Instructions; Breaches of Discipline and Affiliated Penalties; Advertisement; Sail No. Allocations; Race Officials; Use of Support Boats ; 2015 General Sailing Instructions for Yachts. In case of contradiction between any articles of the Notice of Race, herein or Amendments to the Sailing Instructions, the most recently announced article will be valid.

2. Eligibility2.1 The race is open to all sailing yachts of 6-27 m length overall with inboard or outboard motor that are Equipped for racing according to the race and safety regulations; those which have an IRC measurement certificate valid for 2015,and unmeasured yachts that meet the specifications of a sailing yacht but do not have a valid IRC measurement certificate and agree to compete in the Non-IRC (DESTEK) division.

2.2 IRC DIVISIONS: The IRC Divisions will be set up as with reference to the following criteria and the first matching criteria will be the division to the yacht.

2.2.1 TCC recommended bandwidth and warning flags for IRC Classes:-IRC MAXI division will not be able to compete in the Grand Overall.

Non- IRC (DESTEK) Division – White flagIRC MAXI and SUPER YACHT Cruiser Division –Black flag

- The Bosphorus Cup races open for boats over 50 feet SUPER YACHT CRUISER Division by ranking out of the races except on Saturday May 30th. The IRC certificate will not be required of these boats will not be included in any handicap system.Divisions will be classified as IRC, Non-IRC (Destek) and Super Yacht Cruiser

2.2.2 The Race Organizing Committee may merge the participants in the group with a lower or higher group due lack of attendants in the groups. Decisions are final, objections and change demands will not be accepted.

2.2.3 Certification requirements: IRC Maxi, 0, 1, 2 and 3 classes Endorsed Certificate will be required in the declaration of the yacht. A yacht who had an IRC certificate previously will not be allowed to participate in this race without a valid IRC certificate.

2.2.4 Crew Limitation: Yachts in the IRC category must observe the crew limitation rule stated in ‘Crew no’ section in their IRC Certificates:

• IRC Maxi, IRC 0, IRC I and IRC II max. plus 2 person.• IRC III and IRC IV divisions max. plus 1 person.

Press members that the organizing authority has been informed of will be on board and won’t be included in the number limitation. The maximum number of crew limitation is not applicable for the Non IRC (Destek) Division of all the Division. Minimum 3 sailors must be on board at a yacht all the time. All kinds of safety equipment must be sufficient and eligible for the crew.

2.2.5 Yachts are not allowed to carry anchors on their bows during the races.

3. Eligibility and registration

3.1 Measurement Certificate Revision: IRC certificate that have been given by UNCL or approved by the RORC and signed by the yacht owner/ responsible will be presented during the registration. The measurement certificate which has been submitted with the registration form cannot be replaced by another IRC document during the series. However TCC value in a new document that have been created with the result of an objection or a defect that has been detected by UNCL / RORC Rating Office, will be valid from the starting date of the previous document.

3.2 The Race is open to all regions, foreign yachts and non-Turkish sailors who comply with applicable regulations and instructions.

3.3 Registration: Registration will be made via www.bosphoruscup.org. Yachts who wish to participate must fulfill the entry form and have it signed by the yacht owner /responsible and submit it with the payment receipts, a valid IRC certificate, team’s licenses and the advertising document if present to info@bosphoruscup.org within the time that has been stated in Notice of Race. The last Registration time for the Bosphorus Cup 2015 is 25 May 2015 Monday, 19:00.

Registration or payments after 25 May 2015, 19:00 will be subjected to a late charge of 50 TL. Entries will not be accepted after the beginning of the first briefing.

3.4 License requirement: All sailors on the yachts must possess a Racing Sailor License valid for 2015 Sailors who do not have a valid license can obtain one from the Race Office and those without a license will not be permitted to enter. The fee for a temporary license is 25TL. Holders of non-Turkish sailors are exempt from this obligation (ISAF Eligibility Code 19)

3.5 Registration fees: Registration fees for 2015 had been determined as follows:

IRC Maxi, IRC 0, IRC 1 : 500 TLIRC 2 : 400 TLIRC 3 : 350 TLIRC 4 : 300 TLNon-IRC (Destek) : 300 TL

Registration fees are to be deposited to GARANTI Bankası Etiler (340) Account number: 6299606 and payment receipts must be submitted to the relevant section in the registration page. Yacht name and sail number is recommended to be written on the bank receipt. For the registration to be valid, necessary documents, IRC certificate and receipts must be submitted.

3.6 Crew list: Crew list for each yacht participating in the race, should be submitted correctly by fulfilling the form in www.bosphoruscup.org. Any possible change in the crew list should be done from the ‘I want to change the crew’ section in the same form stating the old and the new crew member names. If the crew list update is intended to be done on the first day of the race, an informative email should be sent to info@bosphoruscup.org an hour before the first warning sign. The crew on the yacht must be declared in the entry form, otherwise it will caused is qualification (DSQ). The yacht owner/representative declared in the Entry form, have to be on the yacht during the race. When the yacht owner/representative completes the registration from www.bosphorouscup.org, the rules and information in this Notice of Race will apply.

3.7 If The yachts have not registered to compete the races, they will not be allowed to the sailing the Bosphorus area.3.8 Every yacht owner/representative who registers for the race is considered to have accepted all the rules that have been stated in in this NoR.3.9 The Organization Authority or the Race Committee has right to refuse or cancel the entry of a yacht or remove a competitor from the race by stating the reason before the start of the first race.(RRS Rule 76.1)

5.2 The race program can be changed by the Race Committee according to Sailing Instructions and Amendments to the Sailing Instructions.

9. Time limitsThe time limits will be announced with the Amendments to the Sailing Instructions

10. Radio communications10.1 It is required to have a VHF radio on board and to keep it on channel 73 (and channel16 if possible) through out the race. It is forbidden to get in touch with third parties via radio/ phone to provide race directions and get help.10.2 A yacht shall not make private VHF transmissions or listen to channels that are not open to racing yachts. All racing yachts should monitor channel 73. Personal conversations or transmissions not relating to the race/safety matters cannot be made through this channel, the Racing Committee may take action against the yacht.10.3 The Race Committee will respond to radio calls that are appropriate to rules and sportsmanship. Failure to reply to the VHF calls of the competitors by the Race Committee will be grounds for a protest.

11. Start procedure11.1 The start of the races will follow the procedure as stated in RRS Rule 26. If there is any change of (RRS) Rule 26, it will be stated at the Amendment of the Sailing Instructions.11.2 Description of the START and FINISH LINE will be announced in Sailing Instructions.11.3 Individual Recall Sign: If there is an OCS yacht or yachts upon the start signal, the Race Committee will warn them by hoisting the X code flag with one sound signal. Yachts are obliged to go on the course side of the starting line and start again by identifying themselves according to the rules. The Race Committee will not notify those yachts on the VHF.

12. Scoring12.1 In all races, the ranking of a yacht is derived from her corrected time (ascending) after the penalties (if any) are applied. RRS Appendix A4 Low Point System will apply.12.2 The series is planned for IRC O, 1, 2, 3 divisions as 5 races, if all five races have been sailed, the classification will be done by excluding the worst scored. For IRC MAXI, IRC 4 and Non IRC (Destek) divisions planned as 3 races and the classification will be done by 3 races.12.3 Each class winner will be the yacht that has the lowest total points. Incase of a tie between yachts, RRS A8 will be applied to break the tie.12.4 At the end of the race series, the first three places will be awarded in each class.

13. Right of AppealAn International Jury will be constituted under RRS Appendix N. It’s decisions will be final as provided in RRS 70.5.

14. Results14.1 Race day official race results will be posted on the Race Office. In addition, the official results will be published in the www.bosphoruscup.org and www.tyf.org.tr.14.2 BC LIVE RESULT SYSTEM that has been specifically prepared by ORG Sport is present for Bosphorus Cup races. Results will be announced in www.bosphoruscup.org/results and in BC Live mobile app as well few seconds after the finish. However the results that will be announced hereby are unofficial results and may change.

15. Prizes15.1 Bosphorus Cup has the perpetual Trophy allocated for Grand Overall first place. This trophy isissued according to the ranking that will be determined with the corrected time that is calculated at the end of the race series for IRC 0, IRC 1, IRC 2 and IRC 3 class of racing boats without class distinction. Throughout the yachts within the classes stated above, only the yacht with the lowest point in overall will be rewarded with perpetual Trophy allocated for Grand Overall. The winner will have the right to preserve the Trophy for one year till the next Bosphorus Cup.

15.2 Top three yacht in each class will be awarded.

16. Haul - out restrictionsAll yachts shall be launched by 28 May Thursday at 16:00 and shall not be hauled out until the18:00 on the 31 May Sunday unless they have prior written permission of the Race Committee.

17. CopyrightAll boats and skippers participating in the Bosphorus Cup will have to let photo shoots and video records to be published within the scope of Organizing Committee of the Bosphorus Cup promotion.

18. Diving equipment and plastic poolsUnderwater breathing apparatus, plastic pools and similar apparatus shall not be used in the vicinity of all participating yachts from before the race start on the first day, until the end of the last race on the final day, except with prior written permission of the Race Committee.

19. Liability19.1 Adoption of rules: Every competitor and boat owner or responsible person is supposed to accept the following rules:

a) Race will be conducted according to the written rules of NoR and SI and Amendments to the SI

b) The race will be governed by the rules listed in NoR article #1. By participating in a race conducted underthese rules, each competitor and boat owner agrees to be governed by the rules, to accept the penalties imposed and other action taken under the rules, subject to the appeal and review procedures provided in them, as the final determination of any matter arising under the rules and with respect to such determination, not to resort to any court or other tribunal not provided by the rules.

19.2 Decision to Race: RRS 4 Decision to Race–The responsibility and decision to participate or continue to the race belongs to owner, skipper and the crew only.

19.3 This race organizers, Turkish Sailing Federation and the Bosphorus Cup management, sponsors, race and protest committees are not responsible for any losses, damage to the yacht(s), personal injury, disability or death of skipper, competitors/crew, which may be caused directly or indirectly from race participation, preparation, sailing instructions, course or decisions taken before, during or after the race. In particular, the owners and skipper accept full responsibility for their crew, seaworthiness of the yacht, safe navigation, and decision to start the race and whether or not to continue with the race.

19.4 Every yacht owner /responsible who registers for the race and signs the relevant form is considered to have accepted the above responsibilities. During the race, Organization Committee, Race Committee and Protest Committee will communicate only with the responsible person or person authorized by the responsible person. Owner/responsible or authorized person will be held responsible for all written and radio communications done.

20. InsuranceAny yacht taking part in the race is highly recommended to have valid third party liability insurance.
