Tenova Advanced Technologies (TAT) offers differentiated, project-specific process technologies based on decades of esearch, equipment design and project execution. Advanced solutions include solvent extraction (SX) and electrowinning (EW) for the mining and chemical industries, membrane circuits, in-house state-of-the-art R&D facilities, expertise in minerals beneficiation as well as phosphate processing from ore to purified phosphoric acid and salts.

The TT Mixing System with its advanced design, enhances separation in the settler, and provides many advantages compared to the conventional mixing systems used in solvent extraction circuits. It enables significant reduction of entrainment levels without changing the process flow and can easily be retrofitted to existing mixer settlers or installedin new plants.

Tenova Turbulent Technologies Mixing System is a new mixing technology which enables significant reduction of entrainment levels without changing the process flow. It can be easily retrofitted to most existing mixer settlers or installedin new SX plants.

HOW THE TURBULENT TECHNOLOGIES MIXING SYSTEM WORKS

Mixing a two-phase system involves a dynamic process of droplet breakage and coalesence. The TT Mixing System agitator design increases the frequency of the two processes and changes the dynamic balance between them, withoutcreating small droplets that make separation difficult. The resulting droplet size distribution has a larger average drop size, and a narrower distribution, which reduces settling time and entrainment of water in organic and organic in water phases.The TT Mixing System also provides an even distribution of the mixing energy throughout the tank, for optimal mass transfer.
