Gabungan (Compounding)

Jika stim dikembangkan dalam nozel tunggal daripada tekanan dadang ketekanan pemelowap, halaju akhirnya masih tinggi.

Jika stim ini mengalir melalui gelang bilah tunggal dan tenaga kinetiknya diresap oleh gelang ini maka halajunya akan terlalu tinggi.

Untuk mengurangan halaju yang tinggi ini, halaju jet stim ini diresapkan secara berperingkatperingkat dimana ia mengalir melalui bilah- bilah rotor yang dikunci pada aci yang sama. Ini dinamakan gabungan.

Gabungan Halaju (Velocity Compounding) Stim dikembangkan daripada tekanan

dandang ketekanan pemelowap dalam nozel.

Halaju diresapkan dalam bilah-bilah dalam bilah-bilah bergerak yang diatur bersiri.

Bila stim dikembangkan, tekanannya akan jatuh sementera halajunya akan meningkat.

Apabila stim bergerak melalui bilah-bilah yang bergerak, halajunya akan jatuh, semua kejatuhan tekanan ini berlaku dalam muncung sementara apabila stim mengalir pada bilah.

Gabungan Tekanan (Pressure Compounding) Tiap-tiap gelang bilah-bilah bergerak,

ada satu gelang muncung dihadapannya. Stim dikembangkan dalam muncung dan

kenaikan halaju dalam tiap-tiap muncung diresap.

Semua kejatuhan tekana stim tidak berlaku dalam gelang muncung pertama sahaja tetapi adalah dibahagikan bersama-sama diantara semua gelang muncung.

Hampagas (Vacuum)

Hampasgas yang tinggi adalah penting dalam turbin kerana jumlah pengembangan stim berubah berkadar kepada jumlah hampagas didapati.

Ekonomi sesuatu turbin bergantung kepada hampagas yang didapati dan banyak tenaga yang boleh diperolehi jika tekanan adalah rendah.

Penyendal turbin (Turbine Glands) Penyendal turbin dipasang kedua-dua

hujung penutup turbin untuk :- a. Mencegah kebocoran stim daripada
