Concept:
Structured research internship program For select North American partners
only Timeframe: 10 weeks in summer
(June 04 – August 10, 2018) Highly competitive admission
process
Central Services Provided by TUM: Scholarship Accommodation (dorm) Cultural immersion and orientation
program (industry visits, excursions, local activities etc.)
Administration via PREP Program Manager
TUM Practical Research Experience Program
Candidate prerequisites: Undergraduate or graduate
students (min. 2 years of undergraduate studies completed when arriving to TUM)
GPA of 3.0 or better (4.0 scale) Project-specific Skills (e.g. completion
of specific courses) No German skills required

2017: projects offered in 10 faculties
Available projects for PREP 2018 will be announced presumably in September 2017 at www.international.tum.de/en/prep
Projects list specific prerequisites and ECTS credits(if applicable); students are asked to consult with theircoordinators regarding credit transfer
In their online application, students may choose to applyfor two projects, but will be asked to rank their choices

Placement and Admission TUM International Center will review
the applications formally and thenforward them to project supervisors fora content-related evaluation
Admission letters will be sent out presumably in late January 2018

Optional Pre-selection of Students:If partners wish to pre-select and nominate students, TUM International Center will need both…
a nomination sheet submitted via e-mail to [email protected] and
the nominated students’ applications registered and uploaded in the application platform
by the above-mentioned deadline.
Estimated ExpensesOne-time Expenses Enrolment Fee: ~130.00€* Semester ticket for public transport ~200.00€
