Tullibigeal Central School Newsletter
Like us on Facebook. We wrote about our Facebook page
last week. I should have said that it will have a link to our
webpage which should contain information about
assessments due. Do feel free to like us or recommend us.
You can contribute in the usual way.
Education Week Book Fair. Next week is Education Week.
We are having a Book Fair on Monday to mark the start of
Education Week. Students will be involved all day in lessons
about books. We are all encouraged to dress up as a
character from a book. Something a bit more imaginative
than a footballer is called for boys! A free sausage sizzle
and character parade will be held at lunchtime (1.20pm).
Hope to see parents there if they are available. Thanks to
Mrs Newham for her organisation.
Internet Survey AKA slow going The office still only has 5
forms returned. Thanks to those prompt people. Can
parents please make an effort to complete that form and
see it handed in. This is a pretty big issue for students and
families.
Not Going so slow We seem to have a group of 4 students
ready to undertake a wonderful sailing excursion to Sydney
in December. It should be a fantastic experience for those
students.
Year 10 Subject Selection It is time for students, who are
coming back in Year 11 2016, to make their subject
selections. Mr Small will provide the prospectus this week.
Students must return the form by Monday and we can then
discuss choices over the phone with parents in week 3.
Kinder Induction Program. Last Thursday saw the first day
of this year’s Kinder Transition Program. It was marvellous
seeing 9 potential Kindergarten Students 2016. Mrs Dillon
organised a fantastic day for the kids and presented an
informative time for the parents in the library. A huge
thanks to Jacqui for her efforts and organisation. Parents of
next year’s potential kinder students are encouraged to
view their relationship with the school as a partnership. Call
us if you have any concerns. Remember we have the same
goal you all do.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data. This year marks
the second occasion when data has been collected about
the adjustments which are made for children’s learning at
school. There is a two page blurb about this process later in
the newsletter. It’s not a scary thing but it is a bit new. A
huge thank you to Ms Bell for collating these adjustments.
Finally I would like to reiterate my enthusiasm for another
term at the mighty Tullibigeal
Until next week… Tom Garvey Principal

Last Thursday our 2016 Kindergarten students started their transition to school. Thank you to all the parents who attended our meeting it was great to see so many of you. We will continue with our transition this Thursday from 9 until 12pm.
Well done to all the students who have settled back into their classes this term it has been a great start to the term.
Please take some time to read Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 reports from their holidays which are attached to the newsletter. They have been working very hard on writing their recounts.
Next week we have students heading off to Lower Lachlan for Athletics on Friday 31st of August, notes need to be back asap.
Next Monday we are encouraging all students to dress up as their favourite book character for the Book Fair and Book Week Celebrations. We would also like to invite parents in for the activities and for our free sausage sizzle.
Next Friday students will be heading down to the CWA for the International Day Celebrations. Kindergarten to Year 6 have spent the last term learning about Italy and are looking forward to presenting their knowledge on Italy.
Just a reminder that students need to please have their names on all jumpers as the weather is very cold and jumpers are being left at school.
Please make sure you all go and like the Tullibigeal Central School Facebook page. This will be where you will find up to date information about our school.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at
the school at your earliest convenience.
A major focus in Stage 2 this term is spelling and writing.
Students are involved in the Seven Steps writing program,
where students are already showing success and most of all
excitement in their writing. They are doing an intensive
spelling program and this will see some small changes with
their home learning words. If there are any questions
please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
I would also like to Congratulate Mr Garvey on his 30 years
of service.

Friday.
Year 10 to Stage 6 Transition
It is that time of year again when our Year 10 students need
to think about what their intentions for further schooling
are. There will be an information session held this week
with the Year 10 students discussing the options and
expectations for next year. If students have a clear goal in
mind it always makes this difficult decision a little easier.
Please discuss your child’s further education with them
over the next couple of days, assisting them to make the
right decisions about next year.
Friendly Reminder
A friendly reminder to all those students who received
assessment letters last term and still have outstanding
assessment tasks, we need those tasks handed in by the
date on the letter or another letter will be issued. Again
thanks to all those students who have handed in
assessments on time and have applied their best effort.
If you need help with an assessment please see your
teachers before they are due.

Miranda, Elly, Tahlia, Lilly and Dakota
We are very excited to be in our final weeks of practice
before our big performance at the Sydney Opera House.
Due to the Book Week Celebrations we will not be able to
have our normal Monday P5 practice. Instead we will have
a special practice on Wednesday 29th July P5. This will be
our last practice before heading off to Sydney on Sunday.
I would like to take the opportunity to wish Elly, Tahlia,
Lilly, Miranda and Dakota all the best for their performance
at Sydney. You have all improved so much and I am super
proud of each and every one of you. I’m sure we are going
to have a wonderful time in Sydney performing at the
Opera House.
A big thank you to everyone who bought chocolates,
purchased a $5 square in our hundreds chart or who helped
out with fundraising in some way. We are grateful for your
help. A special thank you to TCS P & C and Tulli CWA for
their generous donations. We appreciate your help very
much and would not be going if it wasn’t for the generosity
and support of our beautiful Tulli community. Thanks
everyone and wish us luck!!

We’re thrilled to invite you to participate in this year’s Woolworths Earn & Learn program.
Find out how to earn educational resources for your school or Early Learning Centre in this handy flyer.
It’s back!

There are thousands of educational resources available through the
Woolworths Earn & Learn ProgramIt’s time to register Whether you’re a new or returning school it’s time to register. Use your unique User Name and Password provided in the letter sent to your School Principal or Early Learning Centre Director. Visit teaching.com.au and follow the registration instructions from there. If you can’t locate your User Name and Password, you can contact Modern Teaching Aids Customer Service on freecall 1800 251 497.
It’s simple to participate From Wednesday 15th July to Tuesday 8th September 2015, when your staff and parents shop at Woolworths they can collect Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers from the checkout operator and place them on a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet. There’ll be one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco, and gift cards). Once completed, simply place the Sticker Sheet in the Collection Box, either at your school or at your local Woolworths.
Same great partnership with MTA We’re proud to say we’re partnering once again with Modern Teaching Aids – Australia’s biggest supplier of resources for schools. This means you can choose your resources based on your unique needs, across every category possible including Science, Sports, Mathematics, English, Arts & Crafts, and more.
For more information, including Sticker Sheets and answers to frequently asked questions, please go to woolworths.com.au/earnandlearn
Next StepsInform and encourage your school community Be sure to encourage your parents, teachers, and kids alike to support the Woolworths Earn & Learn program by collecting Earn & Learn Stickers at their local Woolworths between 15th July and 8th September 2015. Templates for emailing and writing to parents can be found on teaching.com.au.
Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet Once collected, the Stickers need to be stuck onto a Sticker Sheet. Please print out Sticker Sheets for your students. These can be downloaded from woolworths.com.au/earnandlearn.
Use your Earn & Learn Collection Box Put your Collection Box in a prominent place at your school. Be sure to let everyone know to place their completed Sticker Sheets in the Collection Box.
Nominate for a Collection Box at your local store Visit your local Woolworths to nominate your school for a Collection Box that will be displayed in store. Each store will have up to five boxes, so be sure to get in early and claim your box. You’ll need to ensure that you regularly empty your box to enable customers to keep filling it up with Sticker Sheets. At the end of the program, you’ll need to compile all of your completed Sticker Sheets to send back to Woolworths – a mailbag will be provided closer to the time.
