• Is the proposition as developed in the project groundbreaking or disruptive?
• Do you have a sound and detailed business strategy?

FRAMEWORK
The structure of your proposal will help to guide the reviewers, who are typically not familiar with the technology.
• Start from the problem you are addressing
• Present your proposition
i.e. “Our platform will be the first to allow stratification of patients at risk of …” instead of “Our platform is super sensitive”.
• Quantify the possible impact of your problem on the partners and society
• Clearly describe why your project will succeed
• Underline the necessity of your collaboration

Eurostars
WRITE
The eurostars proposal consists of the following sections:
1. The Pitch: What will you deliver, but more importantly how will you make
money from it?
2. The business case: Quantify how many people get ill/die/are in pain?
How many can you help and thus how much will you yield? What model
will you use to monetise your innovation? What are market risks?
3. The Project: Scientific, but concise. What are the technological risks? how
will you mitigate?
4. The work packages: Start with your tasks, deduct deliverables and
milestones and build a planning.
5. The consortium: Show how 1 + 1 = 3.
6. The participants: Demonstrate through your unique experiences that you
are the most suitable to the proposed work

DEVELOP
The Eurostars programme is all about commercialisation of innovation.
• Illustrate both the short and the long term impact of the project on e.g. patients, society, industry and/or science
• Make sure you show you understand the market and its challenges
• Include all relevant aspects of commercialisation: IP, possible business / earnings models, route to market, team, market size, regulatory aspects, etc
• Get support letters from industry
• Make sure to include a risk and mitigation plan
• Keep the end-goal in mind: the successful market introduction of a breakthrough technology
