2. meeting the ICT integration requirements of the National Standards for Graduate Teachers as these replace the QCT standards for program accreditation; and
3. contributing to a national overview of Australian preservice education with respect to the integration of ICT capabilities. With all 39 Australian teacher education institutions participating the TTF project provides a means of showcasing preservice education at Griffith in comparison with all other Australian education programs.
As part of the TTF project we will be mapping ICT capability development in second semester Mathematics and English education courses that have some relationship with the Australian Curriculum. Student ICT capabilities will be measured before and after these courses are conducted and a measure of the contribution to student ICT capabilities from these courses established.
The aim is to support your courses in contributing as strongly as possible to ICT capability development and student preparidness to utilise ICT to improve their teaching of Mathematics and English.
We are available to assist you to include in your course profiles and courses, uses of ICT within Mathematics and English education that build student ICT capabilities and enhance the learning of concepts in Mathematics and English.
In addition you have access to a National Support Network (NSN)of 100’s of TTF project members working to assist by sharing ideas, approaches and resources. This is a rare opportunity for a national focus on one aspect of the curriculum and we look forward to assisting you in ensuring that Mathematics and English education at Griffith continues to remain foremost in Australian preservice education.
Together we will be conducting a series of ICT Capability workshops during the year that will showcase various technologies and approaches that can be incorporated into your courses.
We are also available to work with you individually to assist in course preparation and profile development.
