Course Description:This course:

•prepares students to function in the information age where Computer Literacy is becoming a prerequisite in any

discipline a student chooses.

•provides students with the basics for understanding concepts necessary for success in the Information Age.

•aims to instil in students the significance of ICT in today’s world and to give students a basis for acquiring the

necessary computer related skills.

Course Outcomes:Upon completion of this subject, student should be able to:-

•identify the components of a computer: input devices, output devices, system unit, storage devices and

communication devices;

•apply the ICT skills (word processing, presentation and web and internet) appropriately;

Course Outcomes:Upon completion of this subject, student should be able to:-

•demonstrate both ICT and language skills on the use of ICT in academic setting through conducting a mini survey;

•produce a creative computer-based product using basic

MS Office applications and/or other applicable/appropriate software.
