Students will operate under thementorship and guidance of theirPreceptor during a three-month,project-based experience. Studentswill also have the opportunity toengage as a group for both socialevents and professional developmentworkshops.

Allegheny Health Network’s Summer Administrative Residency is a 3-monthintensive, project-based work experience in the Corporate Managementarena. The Residency seeks to provide experiential learning in an academicmedical center setting while strengthening the student's leadership andadministrative skills. Residents will work closely with their Preceptor(s) ondepartment-specific projects, as well as receiving exposure to the overallHealth Care System of AHN.

Assist with core infrastructure build-outwithin the Office such as strategic planning,
governance, and operating model frameworksto supporting system-wide strategic
initiatives that support standardizing andimproving clinical, financial, and/or
operational objectives.
Assist with policy development, themedication storage project, and initiation
of a 5S project within the Allegheny Clinic.
Connect Emergency Department patientsthrough warm hand-offs to clinical and
community-based supports as needs areidentified through social determinants of
health screening results.
Perform analytical reviews and conductresearch, work on quantitative and
qualitative analyses, and learn and assistin account receivables inherent in hospital
and provider business processes.
